Sunrise Village Hotel - All Inclusive

Our family has visited the hotel twice and we are already planning our third stay. We are extremely happy with the facility and, most importantly, the hospitality of the staff. Everyone is accommodating and they really make you feel personally special. The food is diverse enough and very tasty, with typical Greek meals, as well as enough foreign food. They also organize different themed nights for dinner, thus keeping the diversity non stop. Check in and check out are also very flexible which takes away all the worry about incoming and outgoing flights. Overall, it is a very enjoyable experience and we don't feel any need to search for new places to visit.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had chosen the right place for our holiday. Our room was large and the beds were comfortable. All inclusive buffet at each sitting was varied and tasty. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool with no need to reserve a bed at Sunrise. Finally but definitely not last the staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and chatty with a big shout out to Christina who made our holiday even more special.

Amazing stay at this hotel. We were lucky to have seaview room 503. Huge balcony with sunbeds very secluded. Staff all fantastic...so friendly and really go out of their way to make your holiday. Always something on the buffet for everyone. All inclusive drinks ok...but bar staff again so helpful. Rooms cleaned daily...with fresh towels. Well positioned for all restaurants in platanias. Definitely recommend astrea restaurant which hotel will book for you. Will definitely be back.

We visited as a couple and very much enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly and work very hard to ensure the best possible time for everyone. There was a good choice of food and drink and always plenty of sunbeds. Cleanliness is of a high standard and whilst during our stay there was a grass fire nearby which meant ash covered much of the area and in the pool, by the next morning the team (we think including the managers) had cleaned and cleared everywhere to allow guests to swim and enjoy the facilities again. The reception staff were also very helpful and helped us book a day trip to the Samaria Gorge and also told us where to get the public bus to Chania (a short walk to the bottom of the hill and bus stop to the right hand side). The beaches were also lovely and clean, we turned right at the bottom of the hill, walked about 5 mins along and found a bar where it cost 7 Euros to hire sunbeds/brolly for the day and the beach was sandy to enter the sea at this point (near the life guard stand). The main road was about a 10 minute walk away with a good mixture of shops, bars and restaurants - slightly steep walk back up to the hotel but meant we were away from te busy areas and it was lovely and quiet. Lovely family hotel . Good for kids . Very friendly and clean . Any problems were delt with and resolved. All staff were helpful,friendly couldn’t knock them. Food was good . August was busy with young families so if your looking for a quiet place in August this wouldn’t be the place to be in probably out of school term would be more adults and a bit quieter .

Our second time visiting this hotel and it probably won’t be our last. Good to see a lot of the same staff. The barman even recognised my husband. Staff are all really friendly and hard working. Rooms are clean and spacious. Beds comfy and air con is great. Maisonettes even have two bathrooms and two balconies. When we arrived there was water, wine and a couple of cartons of juice waiting for us in our room which was a nice touch. You also get slippers. Pool is kept spotless and there are always plenty of Sunbeds which is a huge plus as there is absolutely no need to get up at the crack of dawn to claim a sunbed. Always the odd lilo and balls in the pool for kids to play with. You can collect pool towels from reception and it’s €10 deposit. We love the food here. It is mainly home cooked Greek food such as mousaka, stifado etc. Lots of salad, tzatziki, freshly baked bread and they do a barbecue twice a week. They also do a kids section with chips etc. Breakfast is similar each day but plenty of choice. If you are a bit fussy or are looking for more international cuisine then the food may not be for you. Pool bar snacks are basic but enough to put you on until the next meal time. Entertainment is not our thing but if you’re interested there has been a magician for the kids, a singer, Greek dancers on an evening. Not much happens in the day time except aqua aerobics around lunch time. Drinks were fine. Had the beer and the rose wine was alright for an all inclusive. Cocktails/spirits did seem a little on the weak side but at least I never had a hangover! Things that could be improved is air con in reception and the restaurant area for the sake of the staff as well as the guests. And hot chocolate would be nice at breakfast time.
