Elounda Palm Hotel & Suites

I stayed three nights at Elounda Palm Hotels & Suites and I loved it. The pool area with the palm trees is stunning and having breakfast there was very pleasant. My spacious Deluxe Infinity Suite was beautifully decorated, had a very comfortable bed and a great bathroom with excellent rain shower. But the cherry on the top was the private infinity pool. I could spend easily the half of my day there catching the early morning sun.

Very relaxing with lovely gardens, views to the sea. The staff were extremely friendly, and fast to serve your drinks meals in the pool bar and restaurant. Breakfasts were with lots of choices, plenty to choose from. Spotlessly clean, loved my garden room, very cosy and bed was so comfortable and pillows.cleaned everyday with fresh towels. There is a beautiful gymn area, spa, with showers if you need to get ready to go home, and have vacated your room., The hotel was further from tavernas and shops than I realised, as I was b and b. however you could eat at the hotel in the evenings. My only negatives were, Coffee machine in restaurant created queuing, think they need 2 machines,at breakfast. The swimming pool was very dangerous as you entered without any hand rail, was slippery on the tiled steps in shallow area, if you slipped and hit your self there is nothing to grab on to. I love swimming, so this put me off going in for a cooling dip. The other steps were in the deep end and were very slippery with sunoil, and just 2 steps on the ladder. New tiles were needed in places... Other than that, I enjoyed my stay, and the relaxing vibe.

Don’t know how this was ever given 4 stars. We had a week here staff could be rude and the place was very penny pinching. Not impressed and I wouldn’t go back. When it says sea view there was a lot of waste land to look over first. Room was ‘okay’ so was food but again not 4 star

The staff were great, really friendly. Really good breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. Great food in the bar restaurant & nice cocktails. The grounds are well looked after. The pool is lovely but it does have limited sunbathing around it but you can alway's find a spot elswhere close to the pool. We stayed in a superior bungalow, which was amazing with fab views out to sea & sunloungers on the balcony, I would recommend an upstairs one for the views & privacy. It's a nice 20 min walk into Elounda, very picturesque once you leave the road & get down on the water front, you get to walk past all the lovely eateries & take your pick. You're a 10 minute drive from Plaka which is beautiful & about 15 minutes from Agios Nikolaos. Elounda & all around is a lovely area, lot's to see & very beautiful. Highly recommend.

Lovely modern hotel in its own location but slightly remote, Elounda is approx 20 min walk away Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and customer service focused. Good range of local style food, well cooked and presented, topped up regularly as required. Range of accommodation from 'budget to luxurious suites' Sea filled Pool gave great buoyancy and pool area good, but not too many sunbeds, but they are quality sunbeds with pillows, also available close to accommodation, which we used instead daily. Spa on site with gym, not used, too hot About 1 hr from Heraklion = £90 for taxi 1 way

Husband and myself stayed at the Elounda Palm for 7 nights commencing 23rd June, travelling with Jet2holidays on a half board basis (the only basis you can stay on with Jet2) in a Classic Sea View Room. We were allocated Room 301 which had an enormous terrace with 2 sunbeds, table and 2 chairs and with a wonderful view. Room was simply but nicely furnished with a kingsize very comfortable bed and a good modern shower room. It was good that a ‘fridge is supplied enabling you to put drinks in and keep cold. There was also a coffee making machine. The whole of the hotel was also simply but very nicely furnished everything being of good quality. I would think a fair bit of money has been spent on the hotel over the years. Surprised the official rating is 3 star; I would have thought 4 star. A good swimming pool and surrounding area which were kept very clean with really comfortable sun beds – in fact the best we’ve ever had – but really need a few more of them around the pool although there are others spread around the hotel grounds and some other ones so you could always get a bed somewhere. All the grounds were well kept. Very comfortable pool bar and restaurant area. Wish they had served sandwiches, baguettes or similar at lunchtime as being half board we only want a light lunch. Main restaurant again simply furnished and with large outside eating area. The buffet food for breakfast and dinner was fine – the duck on one day being excellent – but unfortunately it could have been hotter. The only annoyance I had was that we had bought a large bottle of water for dinner one night and as didn’t finish it that night took it down the next night to be told it was not allowed! When I thought about it I suppose people could top up the hotel bottles with cheaper water from the supermarket but really you could only get away with this once not to be noticed – a minor annoyance. Reception staff very efficient and friendly as were the waiting staff. Hotel is next to the main road as stated by one TripAdvisor but it didn’t affect our enjoyment and we live in a very quiet area at home. As another TripAdvisor stated this really is not a hotel for children except if they are very young as there is nothing for them to do but for us as a couple it was fine. Elounda village, which is lovely, is about a 30 minute walk away but I would not want to walk it in the dark, with nice restaurants. Disappointed with the village beach. There is a supermarket about a 15 minute walk from the hotel with a couple of tavernas along the same stretch of road but being half board we did not try them. We did use the buses on a number of occasions but they do not run to schedule. The fare being 2 Euros per person wherever you went. We took a taxi once from the village to the hotel and this cost 8 Euros. Took the boat across from Plaka to Spinalonga; very interesting place. I wish there was a wider rating system for this hotel cause I don’t think it was just average so I can’t give it a 3 but I’d feel weird giving it a 4 cause it wasn’t really good. But it was a good hotel with nice staff and a relaxing vibe. 3.5 stars? The staff were so lovely, everything was clean and I thought the hotel itself was sooo beautiful. However the room was tiny. Hardly enough space to put anything, the blinds didn’t block out the sun and the bed was really uncomfortable. The bath room was really big, maybe wish it was a bit smaller so there was more room to put suitcases. I also don’t think there was enough sunbeds for the amount of people there was at the hotel. We only had breakfast at the hotel which I don’t think you can really comment on to much as it was a buffet but it was pretty average but again it was buffet style. But again the whole hotel was really pretty, even the tiny room was pretty. And really near a lot of restaurants and shop. Really good if you want to get away from loud resorts as it was quite aswell. This hotel probably would have been 4 star but I found it really hard to sleep in that room due to the bed and blinds.

A lovely boutique-type hotel. Not very large and always very tranquil and relaxing. The staff were all great. Very friendly and chatty. The hotel was spotless and excellently presented. We had an inter joining family room with private pools. Whilst the pools aren’t heated, with temperatures above 30c they were a welcome relief! You can stroll into Elounda in about 25mins but a fair slog in the heat. The bus stops outside the hotel and with a standard €2 fare its a good way to get around locally. During our stay the main demographic staying were older couples with no other families with children. Its definitely a quieter resort and if you have active children over toddler age this might not be the best choice in the locality. Would definitely recommend!
