A true oasis in the middle of Ahmedabad’s old city. It was the best decision to stay here: great service and great location and the food is phenomenal too.

Everything was great and my only disappointment was that the room was in a dark corridor with windows into that corridor. We had no light or windows to allow light in. The room itself was well appointed and very large. The staff were amazing and if we were staying longer I would have requested a different room.

Beautiful and special hotel.
Pool is small and gym very limited.
Staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant is delicious.
Would for sure stay here my next visit in Ahmedabad.

House of MG is an oasis in the midst of a bustling lively city scape.
The unique design aspects, and cultural adaptations integrated into the smallest of details was truly impressive. We had a memorable visit and would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a boutique heritage experience.
Working for 30 years in top luxury hotel properties in N.A., and Asia, I recognize this property as a special destination.
The team was friendly, engaging and helpful.

Although this is not in par with the German level I highly recommend this Hotel (because of its style and location!
I am compelled to express my heartfelt gratitude and admiration for the exceptional service provided by Mr. Ishwar Desai, Security Officer, and Mr. Santosh Singh, F&B Manager, at Agashiye - The House of MG. During my recent visit, I inadvertently left my diamond ring in the washroom of the banquet hall. To my astonishment, the ring was found by a guest who, with impeccable integrity, handed it over to the lost and found staff. The staff, in turn, ensured its safe return to me. Mr. Desai and Mr. Singh demonstrated remarkable sincerity, professionalism, and work ethics in handling this situation. Their dedication to their roles and commitment to customer satisfaction is truly commendable. The guest who found the ring and returned it anonymously has rekindled my trust in humanity. Her selfless act is a shining example of honesty and integrity. Agashiye - The House of MG is fortunate to have employees like Mr. Desai and Mr. Singh, who consistently deliver exceptional service and uphold the highest standards of ethics. I highly recommend this establishment for its outstanding hospitality and commitment to customer satisfaction. This is one of the whackiest hotels I have ever stayed in and we loved it. A former mansion of a wealthy family, it is a fascinating historic building filled with all sorts of art, much of it strange crafts but also much traditional. Our room was enormous, and quiet despite the central and very busy location. Staff were attentive. The restaurants on site are quite good, but not extraordinary. We had massages which were excellent. The second (their first) floor boutique is filled with extraordinary textiles and a must visit.

We informed one day before to House of MG, Bhadra about our planned visit to Pol Kholi on 1st Feb and they had given number of Mr. Rahul. As per their request, we also informed them on 1st Feb about our visit around 11.30 am so Mr. Rahul said that Mr. J P will be attending us. When we reached there though auto as reaching by car is not possible at Pol Kholi, we were surprised by the rude behavior of the staff. They said that why you have come, food is not available here. I requested to send Mr. J P but he also didn't come outside and misbehaved in slang language (Hindi gali). So, I called to their manager Hashmukh and Mr. Vivek at House of MG but they were also not interested. We waited for more than 45 minutes after which Mr. J P came outside and said that our staff was taking lunch so no food is available and only Pauva can be provided. We were surprised with such behavior. We urge everyone not to visit Pol kholi at all for food. You can visit there to take photos if you want to but do not go there as people there are very rude and insult. Moreover, management of House of MG is not aware about mis management their staff is doing. I have never seen complete restaurant staff taking lunch at 11.30 and eating out all available food. Very strange. We left the place around 12.30 without food and with bad memories. I am also putting photo of person who was misbehaving.

Beautiful property! We enjoyed the artistic, classical Indian-style decorating in the lobby, pool, gardens, and terrace. We stayed in suite 110, which was spacious and had a nice shower with good water pressure (unlike other places we've stayed in India). Breakfast was excellent. The treats left in the room were a nice touch. The staff spoke English and were responsive to our requests.

HoMG is a beautiful boutique hotel. It’s like an oasis amidst the hustle of Ahmedabad. Check in was efficient but we discovered that there was a problem with their credit card machine and WiFi. For a 1 night stay for business this was a small issue as we needed to roam. There was no offer from the hotel or service recovery. The rooms are beautiful and large. Fans in the living room and bathroom. Great communal gardens and lots of areas to walk around to admire the heritage. I checked in late afternoon following a 4 hour car journey from Bhavnagar. I opted for a quick 30 min massage before they closed at 2000 and this was very good. Dinner was thali at Ayshigae. I think the flavours didn’t suit us 100% as a number of the dishes were on the sweeter side but understand this is a hallmark of cuisine in Gujarat. The setting was fantastic and waiters all very efficient and helped guide on the dinner. Breakfast was very good in the Green House. It was a quick one as we had an early flight up catch but the service was good and prompt. The credit card issue persisted the next day so they could not take payment for the taxi drop off to AMD airport. Asked me to do a bank transfer instead via roaming. Unfortunately it would take my bank 4 hours to see up a new beneficiary so that didn’t work. The young gent at reception did not seem particularly helpful but after persisting , managed to get the machine to work. I did an evening tour with Mr Ali the resident guide of HoMG. Very informative and got to see the other two properties owned by HoMG. In summary clearly a lovely and amazing property and if the service levels can be raised it has the real potential to be amazing.

The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful in generally. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the restaurant, before you enter the restaurant you are presented with 2 menus options, you must confirm your order pay and then you can go into the restaurant. I am 70 years of age and have traveled all over the world this is the first time I’ve experience this. The management should understand that people need to have information about what’s on the menu. Tourist are not always aware of Gujrat cuisine. Going to a restaurant should be fun, discovering new things, learning to understand another culture this restaurant did not do that for me. SORRY.

It was a pleasant stay, the staff is very courteous and supportive , the food is very delicious,the surroundings are well maintained, provided a great ambience,the rooms are very spacious and well organised with all the necessary amenities……great experience!

I don't think I've ever stayed in a room so big. This was clearly some kind of suite. Not sure if they offer anything smaller, there wasn't many options on Agoda. That king sized bed, could probably sleep four. The mattress was very firm, very comfortable. There was even 2 A/C units, both working and very efficient at keeping my room nice and cool. And a fan! The room, including bathroom was spotlessly clean. The desk was appreciated, there lots of power points although the decision to have them all black in colour is odd and finding light switches in the dark wasn't easy. I stayed on the third floor, I'm not sure what they offer on the ground floor, but it might be worth enquiring if you have mobility issues. I didn't use their famous restaurant Agashiye, but I did have breakfast in the Green House area, it was fine, staff were friendly. Staff were helpful, especially reception. I needed attractions on a day tour swapping around a bit to make the most of time and someone did that for me. They also organised an airport transfer for me. I think House of MG was my favourite stay for this years trip to India.
