I recently stayed at greenwood villa from november 1st to 3rd with a group of 8 others and our experience was quite disappointing overall. Here are the details of our stay: parking issues: upon arrival around 6 pm, we were informed that we could not park our car on the hotel property until after 9:30 pm. This was inconvenient and frustrating, especially after a long journey. Room confusion: we had booked 3 couple suite rooms However, we were initially shown the cheapest option, a deluxe room with a pool view. After some discussion, we were finally taken to the couple suite rooms, but they were the same size as the deluxe rooms. We felt the deluxe room a bit more spacious so we had to go with it. This was misleading and disappointing. Room conditions: the rooms had several issues: all 3 rooms had non-working tvs. One room had a leaking faucet. Another room had a faulty switchboard. The extra beds provided were wet, and the bathroom towels had visible stains, which was unacceptable. Dining experience: food was served in a cramped "banquet hall" on the first floor, which felt more like a congested storage area filled with extra chairs. The pics of dining place shown is completely different as the place is the bar lounge which is not the place where the food is served for checked-in guests. The cleanliness was poor, and we even saw a mouse running toward the kitchen stairs. The food was average at best, and when we asked about dessert, we were initially told that only ice cream was available. After some insistence, we were offered semi-heated gulab jamun, which was disappointing. Limited water supply: we were provided with only 2 small 500ml bottles of water, and when we requested more, we were charged 40 inr for a 20 inr bottle. This felt like an unnecessary up charge for guests. Pool condition: the swimming pool was green and uninviting. Despite our request to clean it, the staff insisted it was cleaned regularly and safe to use. However, later that evening, when the kids tried to enter the pool, we were told it was off-limits due to chemical treatment. The staff claimed they had no prior information about our request to clean the pool. Service quality: overall, the service was lack luster. It felt like guests who checked-in were treated as an afterthought, with a clear preference for customers at the bar lounge. There were about 5-6 workers at the bar lounge whereas only 2 people at maximum for serving the guests at banquet hall. We felt neglected and unvalued throughout our stay. Positive note: the only bright spot during our stay was the two polite guards stationed at the gate. They were friendly and helpful, providing a small sense of warmth amid-st the otherwise disappointing experience. From parking issues and room discrepancies to poor dining and service quality, i would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant stay in amritsar.
