We'd booked this for one night, but when we got there, we immediately booked in for a second night. Great hacienda, historic building, with quirky rooms, an slightly outdated bathroom. Our room had a lovely view over the banana plantation to the sea; although a little dark, it also helps to keep the room cool when hot. Outside was a lovely covered verandah with day beds to relax, some used books to borrow or swap, and plentiful bananas. It's pretty isolated, so no nearby restaurants etc., so if you need to go anywhere nearby, it's a car ride. They don't serve lunch, which is a bit of a shame as it means you have to leave the hotel to drive to get something to eat!! Also, there's no bar / snacks during the day, so all a bit bleak once breakfast is done. The dinners are quite nice, although the second evening the fish was still frozen, so a little disappointing. Also they ran out of tonic water and candles, so when the bar did open, no gin and tonics, and no candles at dinner. Breakfast buffet is pretty standard, but cooked eggs were completely ruined and overdone, plus a dodgy coffee machine, but all in all not too bad. The pool was very nice, although we seemed to be the only people using it, and there's a jacuzzi in one of the end buildings which you have to book. I'd recommend for one evening rather than two, because there are no facilities during the day, but I wouldn't have experienced that unless we had stayed for 2 nights. We had a leak in our ceiling from the room above and they put a wine bucket down to collect the water. Staff are nice, but I felt more could be done to improve the guest experience.
