Arden House

A lovely guest house very close to both the railway station and the lovely town of Arundel. Our bedroom was comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Lucie was an exceptional host. We will certainly be recommending it to family and friends.

Just had a wonderful stay here. Lovely room, comfortable bed and pillows. Just a short walk into the town. Was able to book a parking space in advance which was useful. Lucie was a fantastic host and was able to accommodate my gluten free needs as a Coeliac. Breakfast was delicious. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

This place is brilliant. It reflects the care and attention the owner (and host) has put into it over the past decade. Lucie has thought about everything to make your stay stress free and comfortable. The B&B is well placed only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Arundel. It is very clean and warm and hospitable. It is in a very quiet part of the town. The room is large and has very good tea, coffee and biscuit supplies in the room. The en-suite is large and well thought out too. The entrance hall is accessible via a code sent to your phone and the code is for your room too. The entrance hall is welcoming and has leaflets of things to do in the area. There are even umbrellas for you to use in the entrance hall. There is also a door to the dining room which has about 8 tables in it. There is a self service breakfast bar for the continental breakfast offered. You order tea or coffee from Lucie who will be there at the time you want your breakfast. On offer are yoghurts, fresh fruit, cut strawberries/blackberries/melon, cereals including muesli and all the commercial cereals like cornflakes etc. There are croissants and crunchy wheat bars, and honey, maple syrup and jam and toast plus orange and cranberry juice. You can also order a boiled egg. The coffee was very nice!

I had the opportunity to stay at the Arden House B&B, Arundel while on a cycling holiday. The room was beautiful, light, comfortable and clean. A real home from home feel to the whole place thanks to owner and extraordinary home maker and chef Lucie. I can’t recommend this establishment high enough. Fabulous location surrounded by some lovely restaurants, antique shops and a castle to top it off. Thank you Lucie, I will return soon. Mark

Thank you Lucie for all the little touches in our room and for being so helpful and accommodating. Our room was lovely, bright and spacious. Thanks also for accommodating our need for an early start on our next leg as we walked the South Downs Way. The homemade cake we took for lunch was delicious. The breakfast was the first time we were offered natural yoghurt- all the other places we stayed seemed to think everyone would want cooked breakfast or if they didn’t would be happy with cornflakes! And as for Lucie’s mum’s marvellous marmalade - just give me a jar and a spoon!!!

Arden House is a great B&B superb location, host welcoming and friendly, room clean and tidy with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was outstanding! No hassle access to rooms, and a bonus it has a car park.
