Americas Best Value Inn Athens

This is the worst place we have ever stayed. Traveling from Texas to New Jersey on business. It was getting late so we pulled in. We checked in and went to the room exhausted. Getting ready to go to bed, pulled the quilt back and the sheets and pillows were spotted yellow stains. Called for new sheets and pillows and was told sending housekeeping. They never showed. Being exhausted we sprayed Lysol and we put our own blankets on bed. Woke up at 4:00 AM and OH MY GOODNESS nasty non quality towels and wash cloths. We brushed our teeth with bottle water and left. We had to clean the bathroom. We should have left but we were so tired and made the best of a nasty situation. Front desk could care less. We both are prior Army. Going to the field for a week was a better experience. Dually (our dog) is cleaner and kinder then here. Called and talked to Ashok Patel, Owner is what we were told. We were not wanting our money back but just wanted him to know. I should have known. As nasty as the motel was, he was just as nasty. We will never stay at America Best Value again because of this treatment. He didn’t want to give me his name and asked didn’t you stay and then offered a 50% discount next time. As I said, didn’t want money back just was letting him know. This is the treatment we received and would not wish it on any exhausted travels. DO NOT make the horrible mistake we did.
