We have stayed at Ballina Homestead motel many times over a five or six period. While the price has been steadily creeping up, it is not out of line with better accommodation in the area. The big plus for us is that they have some downstairs rooms that are “pet friendly,” and this something that is not always easy to find. Like most motels offering this, they do charge for “extra cleaning,” whatever that means. The rooms are always spotless, the beds comfortable, the WIFI excellent, and the in room facilities, coffee etc all good. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. There is a cafeteria on the premises, which, although we have not eaten there, always seems well patronised, and there is a reciprocal arrangement with the nearby bowls club. Again, something that we have not taken advantage of because of the wonderful seafood available in Ballina, in itself a reason to stay there. Parking is good, and there is a mix of covered and outside spaces, something to consider during storm season.
