I reached on New Year Day for one night as the price was great given the public holiday and everywhere else is either fully booked or price hike. Firstly the location while advertised as being near Sala Daeng MRT actually takes quite a bit of walking if you are carrying much luggage. This is because there are some no through alleys that you can't cut across so you have to do a bit of a turn to reach the other end. check the route on google maps. Understandable it was new year day so reception was a little late for the check in at 2pm (which was understandable and I was in no hurry) A nice guy with korean accented English (just my assumption and I am not sure) helped to inform that the reception is still helping with some clean up and to wait a moment which was fine. Not sure if he was a guest just helping with logistics or part time working there but he was very very helpful. I was first to arrive for check in and after some time more guest stream in. Eventually the reception came down to process check in and this is where the poor service start to happen. 1. Despite the korean sounding guy telling the reception TWICE I arrive first, she process EVERYONE else just because I did not rush in front of the counter to demand check in but graciously waited. She only smiled and told the korean sounding guy "yes yes ok". Again, though I was not in a hurry, this was rather rude and ungracious. Shouldn't there be a first come first serve basis? I even message the property on the spot in the Agoda app about check in procedure and was met with silence. Poorly run. I would not go to the extent of assuming there was Asian discrimination where she was processing all the Caucasians first though it might look the case. I think perhaps she was just too shy to approach me to ask me but even that doesn't make sense as reception should be firm about priority 2. Next after she finally call on me and process my booking she keep insisting I have a bunk bed only even though I had booked a private room. eventually it boils down to her poor communication of english language as she meant I have a private room with bunk beds to myself. 3. Last but not least the person who showed me to my room did not inform me that I could not use the toilets and shower area on my floor on the second level because it was for ladies only. I only realised it after noticing it late and was embarassed that I had been using it once before without knowing. The person showing me to my room speak absolutely no english and have to shout down to the reception to confirm i had a private room or just a bunk bed. Apologies I am not being picky or nitpicking here but I had stayed in many hostels before and this was the worst experience on the first day of 2025. very sad to see.
