Stayed for 1 night before a festival just up the road. The room in the stables was lovely had everything you needed, lovely comfortable bed and a fabulous bathroom. Dinner and breakfast was lovely and plenty of it, Cocktails were delicious and the service was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome. Overton is a lovely little village we had a wander round and done a bit of retail therapy. We will definitely be back thanks for having us

The food service wad appalling. I had to keep going up to the bar to order things nobody checked if the food was okay or if we needed anything absolutely terrible serce worst expierience at a restaurant by far overpriced food also the money was not worth the terrible service we had. Never go again.

We had a lovely three nights here in a quiet spacious well equipped room in the stables. Everything including cocktails, draft beer, breakfast, dinner and service was spot on and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend. We were made to feel very welcome.

Room was comfortable and well equipped, though lighting in room poor. What really let this place down was the extremely surly and ill mannered young woman on breakfast. Not one ounce of kindness or friendliness, very brusque and everything was too much. I asked if I could omit my eggs and black pudding for an extra mushroom, no was her reply, you can leave stuff off but if you want an extra mushroom you’ll have to pay for it. In the end we were out of asking for anything such as ketchup or other condiments. The rules of breakfast changed one day to the next where it you took anything from the buffet table such as coffee or toast we were told it would cost an extra £6.95! The next morning we were told to take coffee from the buffet table. Shower also didn’t drain. Needless to say we’ll stay elsewhere if we return.

Wow. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels, pubs etc. the white hart is tops. The bedroom was beautiful. All the lovely touches down to the rose on the toilet roll. The bed was so comfortable, the shower was great. I could not fault anything. And so clean. The food at the pub was lovely the staff go above and beyond. Joe is an asset to the pub. He was fantastic. We will definitely be back

The room was lovely, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was very nice and clean and the room was spotless 10/10 for room. Had lunch when we arrived, mediocre at best. When I asked to see the evening menus I was told it’s the same as lunchtime. All that, was a very simple pub lunch menu. Breakfast was a joke, I had the full English. The beans came out in a small pot that had been put on the stove, it was still bubbling and the bottom of the beans were welded to the pan and burned. The eggs were under cooked on top and crispy on the bottom. I left about 40% of it. My wife couldn’t believe her eyes, I never leave breakfast. They need to get somebody in the kitchen that can cook, obviously they don’t have anybody at the moment

Got a fantastic January room rate deal - less than £100 for 2 nights at a weekend. Were given one of the biggest rooms ( even the en-suite was bigger than some rooms we have stayed in in the past). Room needs a bit of TLC but excellent value ( not so sure at full price - £250). Comfortable bed , good nights sleep, excellent shower. Lovely old pub - particularly liked sitting by the log burner with decent pint of ale . Have to agree with some previous reviews about the place being understaffed- particularly noticeable at breakfast time - basics , e.g. bread, butter, fruit juice ran out quickly and had to track down staff to get them replenished. Pub is good base to explore locally - Winchester only 30 mins drive. 3 other pubs in village (The Old House at Home does excellent Thai food) but White Hart our favourite. Do try the tapas bundle - excellent. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed on a Sunday night having visited the nearby Bombay Sapphire Distillery. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large, clean and comfortable. Lovely hot shower. We ate a delicious roast dinner in the pub in the evening, and really enjoyed the cooked breakfast in the morning too. Highly recommend.

Having decided to give the White Hart another try following previous failures we were once again disappointed. Called in with friends for coffee/drinks. As table had not been cleared after previous occupants, we had to clear it ourselves. Lad behind the bar was very apologetic but was on his own so difficult for him. Coffee machine was not working. Tea was a teabag in a cup, had to ask for teaspoons - definitely not 4 star hotel standards. They never seem to get it right.
