Hotel Leo Station, Villa et Annexes

I really liked the hotel. Comfy beds and very clean and modern. This place is just amazing . It has cute little extras like chocolates . I loved the way it was decorated! The entry way is small and not very elevated but the room was perfect. Would not recommend the restaurant on site . Station Leo . That’s why I gave a 4 out of 5. Would definitely be back

OK. Group of 11, with 11 motorbikes - included two couples, all friends. Booking was confirmed as all ground floor rooms, two with double beds, all with secure parking for the bikes. None of that happened. "Secure" parking was rented out to other businesses or used as storage. We were directed to a gravel carpark at rear overlooked by a camera. Awful surface, but we provided our own security locking bikes together en-masse. A later phone call to the named booker "about your upcoming ground floor bookings" (which they clearly didn't have) when we'd been there a couple of nights resulted in them hanging up saying they'd hit the wrong number. Our double room was basic but clean with 3 single beds. Aircon didn't work and neither did the fridge, which was locked and hot to the touch. Particularly tricky with having meds that needed fridge. Disappointed not to have any kettle/drinks making facility. All this was overlooked as we weren't in rooms much, the shower worked well, room sizes were good for all our gear, cleaning was daily and beds extremely comfortable- we all slept well for 4 nights. The restaurant was closed for the first two days, but no matter - central for all the friendly bars and restaurants. Central to shops, amenities and rideouts across Belgium into Germany, Luxembourg, Spa etc. Priced for what we got. Would we go back? Erm... no.

This was the top hotel of our recent two week trip to Europe. We would definitely stay here again. It is in a great location right on the main square in Bastogne and surrounded by many restaurants and shops. The hotel also has its own Michelin 5 Star restaurant as well as a bistro. The rooms were spacious by European standards and quite modern. All public spaces were clean. The included breakfast was quite extensive. All staff were friendly and welcoming.

We stayed at the hotel on a visit to Belgium visiting world war 2 locations. The hotel is extremely well located right in the square in the centre of the town. I had booked this a long time ago and chosen what I thought was a standard room for the hotel, although I was aware that we were in an annex to the main building. On arrival we were offered a welcome drink (nice touch) and asked if we would like rooms in the main building as it was not full; however, an extra €40 per room, per night after an expensive week was a bit too steep. We opted to remain in the annex. My advice would be that if you get the choice don’t stay in the annex. The rooms are outdated and a bit soulless, there is no bottled water provided or coffee making facilities in the room. One of our rooms had a fridge so small it was pointless and the other didn’t have one at all. The beds were fine but it was a bit like staying in a hostel. There is no lift in the annex so you will have to drag your bags up a narrow twisting stair case to get to the room. We didn’t take breakfast but there is an excellent little cafe (Spoons) directly opposite the main hotel entrance. We did eat in the main restaurant which was very good indeed and I would highly recommend it. Had a really good time in Bastogne at this hotel. Staff was awesome. Made some great drinks for us. Room was comfortable. Wish they had AC. Very close to a lot of bars/restaurants in Bastogne. I talked to some friends and rooms varied quite a lot. My room had an updated shower and bathroom and was pretty nice.

On our way to french Alps we made it on this Friday evening to Bastogne. Tripadvisor suggested this hotel and that suggestion was spot on! Hotel parking, nice restaurant with seating as if you were in an old train car. Nice rooms. The extra extra service was provided by Philippe Pondant who send the passport that we forgot to our home address.

I had a double room which was two very narrow singles pushed together. We were also in a kind of annex which was next door but one to the main hotel and didn't feel connected. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the breakfast was very poor value at €18 although oddly there was sparkling wine on the buffet. Very fiddly light switch for the bathroom and I ended up fixing a broken cistern at 3 am that was keeping me awake.

In mid Jan 2023, my wife and I drove (about 3 hours) from the Kaiserslautern, Germany, area through Luxembourg and into Bastogne, Belgium. After a couple days there we drove NW to some of the many quaint Belgium villages. One highlight was the many "pommes frites stands" here and there where they sell excellent French (Belgium) fries! Even better than McDonalds! Our first class Hotel LEO in Bastogne was established with money he made after the war selling fries. The 5 generation family owned hotel is opposite the town square where a WW-II tank (Sherman M4A3) sits on display. Many shops post US Flags in their shop windows too. Throughout the town there are many memorials honoring US Soldiers and their units. If you have not visited, it's worth the trip. We found the hotel to be perfectly located close to many items of historic interest as well as shopping and dining plus free parking in the rear courtyard. Unfortunately while we were there, the ground floor LEO Dining Car restaurant was closed (post Christmas vacation), however, the upstairs breakfast room was just right and offered a very good buffet breakfast including my favorites like bacon, eggs, salmon, etc., and washed down with Champagne, coffees and juices. Probably one of the best breakfast buffets we have experienced in Europe.

We spent three nights at Hotel Leo Station and in almost every respect we were very satisfied: desk staff, room quality, size, and cleanliness, breakfast, and overall experience were very good. The only negative was that the air conditioning was inadequate for the heat wave occurring when we were in the Ardennes; this was during the mid-July record breaking heat wave with temps in Bastogne reaching 98f / 37c and the a/c was stressed trying to keep the room cool. Under "normal" summer temps in Bastogne the a/c should be fine. Otherwise a great hotel.
