Comfortable bed, well thought out accessible shower / wet room. Room to move around the room with a wheelchair. Wardrobe rail at a level to allow a person in a wheel chair to put clothes on the rail BUT only if less than 2 foot long! Dresses or suits would be crumpled. Free parking. 4/5 But 1) Room temperature and Air Conditioning 2) Housekeeping 3) Breakfast at adjacent Brewers Fayre Advertised as having air conditioning however controls only allowed temperature down to 19 degrees C and only remained on briefly (I suspect as reached set temp). Windows sealed completely so unable to open and get fresh air from outside (which was so much pleasantly cooler during our 2 night stay on the 12th and 13th September 2024). If a fire were to start in the room and block egress from the room door - where is the fire escape? We resorted to wedging our door open into the corridor to allow some cooler air in whilst awake in the room. The shower was used twice and despite the bathroom door being kept closed, the room became unbearably hot for our 2 night stay. The second day we requested a fan and room service and informed reception as the door hanger notice for housekeeping suggests. We did not request a change of bed linen but asked for fresh towels, replacement coffee/tea and mugs/glasses etc plus the rubbish emptying. We returned around 5 p.m after a funeral to find the door hanger still on the outside of the room door. The bedroom bin had been emptied although some rubbish had been left on the carpet. 3 new towels were left on the unmade bed. The bathroom had not been touched. The rubbish bin still full and used towels still left in shower area. No fan. The manager, Lorraine, was brilliant! On duty at reception at this time and she went out of her way to sort out these issues. Personally emptying the rubbish and replacing the bin liners. She brought us fresh mugs etc and found a fan for use on the 2nd night which at least allowed us to get some sleep. We had booked breakfast ('full English') in advance at the Brewers Fayre opposite the Premier Inn. It is served between 06.30 and 10.30hrs. We arrived just after 10.00 hrs. The coffeee machine was broken so instant coffee sachets provided. The breakfast bar was half empty. We were told 'this is it and what is left'. (I wasn't the only customer either). I made a fuss and fresh of the above was prepared - we got a refund for the 2nd day.
