Hotel Internazionale Bellinzona

Reception was well organised and pleasant. Spa facilities was closed. However, we were not informed at booking. Nevertheless we could have some activities outside the hotel and in the Ticino region.

We recently stayed at Hotel Internazionale Bellinzona and had a mixed experience. The hotel has a lot going for it, but there were a few unexpected issues as well. Unfortunately, the spa was closed for maintenance or so..? From October 22 to November 4, and this wasn’t communicated before our arrival. We only found out at check-in, which was disappointing, as it had been a key part of our planned stay. The hotel suggested a nearby spa (about a 10-minute drive away), but there was rather no offer of a discount or other form of compensation 😞 Additionally, the restaurant’s background music was a bit too loud and distracting during our meals. There were no coffee or tea-making facilities in the room, nor a minibar, which would have added to our comfort. Also, a small detail, but there was no toilet brush provided in the bathroom. On a positive note, the hotel staff was warm and welcoming, which made a difference. The parking area is video-monitored, which added a nice level of security, and the restaurant has a very friendly staff and served excellent food. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the entire hotel was well-maintained. Its location is very convenient—just a 5-minute walk from the city center and right across from Bellinzona’s central station. They also include a Ticino Ticket, which provides free access to local public transportation, a fantastic bonus. Finally, the breakfast was extensive and delicious, though not included in the room rate. Overall, while we enjoyed our stay, a bit more transparency and attention to detail would have made it even better.

we stayed in this hotel on our train journey through Switzerland. Very friendly staff, good food and cosy rooms. The hotel has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and is a good base for visiting the castles in Bellinzona. I can only recommend it.

Hotel is directly across the street from the train station. It was perfect in every way. Excellent value. Very clean hotel and room. Our room was in the back & had a balcony overlooking the mountains. Excellent selection of breakfast choices (both hot & cold). Friendly, helpful staff. We stayed here for one night, early check in was not a problem. We were able to hike to all three castles from the hotel. It was the perfect stop over on our way to Lucerne from Lake Como. Highly recommend.

Absolutely furious the way I was just received. Unfriendly personal barely saying hello, not doing any effort to speak another Italian language. Passing the details, I am not used to write reviews though I travel a lot but this one guy at the reception deserves the top star of the unfriendliness and that gives such a bad impression upon arrival... just simply never had that. On top of that he refused to give me his name ! Room looks all right though and honestly I don't know yet about the rest but that is why I'd rate the thing two stars and not one...
