This hotel is definitely not worthy of a 4-star rating: 1. We made a reservation for one room, including our dog. We got a written confirmation that our dog was welcome. Upon arrival however, the receptionist, an older man that hardly speaks English, told us in a rude way the dog was not allowed. When we showed him the written confirmation, he simply stated that there was a policy change after our reservation and that we were called about this one day before our arrival. We politely asked to speak to the manager, who could not be found, after which another employee had to fix the situation. The receptionist hardly gave us a look, acted as if we tried to smuggle our dog in, seemed to be bothered by non-dutch speaking people showing up at this desk (how dare those foreigners come to a hotel!) and never apologized for the miscommunication about the dog policy. 2. We sent an e-mail to bring the rude behavior and the shabby policy change communication to the attention of the management. They’re response was completely off-topic, not addressing messing up with the policy change, or the rude receptionist, but instead focusing on a minor detail in our e-mail. 3. Something we would normally not complain about, but also not four-star worthy; this hotel also serves mediocre breakfast. Dry baked eggs, watery juice, etc…
