We were greeted by a female member of staff who did not do anything more than taking our passports and giving us the key to our bedroom. Whereas other guests were spoken about the option to visit nearby wineries or using the very small SPA in the hotel. Upon arriving to our bedroom (a suite) everything looked lovely - nice furniture, a separate sitting and dining room combined and a large bathroom with bath tub and a separate shower. Sadly the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been and the toilet was loose, making loud clancking sounds when being used. We later on discovered that only half the radiators worked (it was a chilly night). We had courtesy still water provided - BUT only on our first night. When we asked in reception about the water not being replaced, we were told that it was only provided for free, on arrival. A very tight approach for a two night stay at a cost of €392, considering that if we had only stayed one night and returned the following day, we would have been provided it again and for free. Not that we mind paying for it, however we feel strongly that this is not the right customer service approach. The food menu (a la carte) looked very appetising and we ordered a 3!course meal. We were disappointed with the quality of some of the disses - including the Iberico Ham which was old and didn’t taste all that good. The hotel is located on the side of a main road with busy traffic and so if your room overlooks the from of the hotel, it can be noisy. All in all it didn’t meet our expectations and we are surprised with the ratings previously given, which don not match our experience at all.
