During my recent visit to the Downtown Boise Courtyard as a guest of friends staying at the hotel, I had a mixed experience that left me with conflicting feelings. The occasion was the Wazu vs Boise State football game, and while I was looking forward to a pleasant evening with friends, the encounter with a bartender named Izzy dampened the overall experience. Izzy's rude behavior and lack of attentiveness, as she appeared more engrossed in her phone than in serving customers, was disappointing. Despite this, I still left a good tip out of courtesy. I must acknowledge the efforts of another staff member who worked diligently to compensate for Izzy's shortcomings, which was appreciated. As someone who frequently travels for work and often chooses Marriott properties, this experience has given me pause. It is essential for establishments to maintain high standards of customer service, and unfortunately, this was not fully met during my visit. While the efforts of the other staff member were noted, the negative impact of Izzy's behavior cannot be overlooked. I hope that the management takes steps to address such issues to ensure a consistently positive experience for all guests. As a guest of freinds who were staying at the Downtown Boise Courtyard, I can only rate my visit with 3 stars, with the expectation that improvements will be made to prevent similar incidents in the future.
