Because this is a 5-star venue, I arrived with high expectations for our training session. 27 Delegates had no hot water for tea/coffee because there was no electricity. We started the conference late due to this power failure too. The general manager refused to apologise and blamed it on Eskom & cable theft. Management was extremely condescending and arrogant. On day-2, 11 x Delegates complained to me about the small "bite size" Spinach Rolls tasting like paint / rancid butter. I took a photo of three spinach rolls that had one bite out of them (see attached), and then put back on the plate because they were inedible. The owner of the property (Chris Goosen) and the GM (Chris) refused to accept this feedback from 11 of my Delegates and said the "facts are they were fine". The owner Chris Goosen (15h00, 16 Aug 2024) stuck his finger in my face and said "If you put anything on social media, I will come after you." This was said in front of five of my Delegates! One delegate seeing and overhearing this came over and said he was one of the delegates who could not eat the roll because it tasted like paint. Management did not even offer to refund my client for the inedible food. Very unfair & unreasonable treatment by senior management.
