Parkhotel Mastbosch Breda

We stayed at the Mastbosch Hotel in Breda for one night with three people. The room we booked had been recently renovated, offering a nice blend of modern comfort while maintaining the hotel's charming, historic atmosphere. Although the room was a bit noisy at times due to sounds from neighboring and upstairs rooms, it was well-prepared for our needs. We had requested an extra bed and upgraded the room, and everything was perfectly arranged. The hotel's entrance is stunning, exuding an old-world charm, but the renovated rooms ensure you don’t have to sacrifice comfort. We stayed only one night and didn’t use the breakfast or other services. The location is fantastic for nature lovers. Just step outside, and you’ll find yourself in the beautiful Mastbos forest, perfect for a relaxing walk or outdoor activities. A great choice for a short, comfortable getaway in a beautiful setting!

It's obvious a hotel in old style, which also gives it a charm. The room at the backside was noisy, die to some ventilation system, so sleeping with open window is tough. Parking is aside the street or across the hotel; in the weekend it can be busy. Great to have a hike in the forest, and find the Mastbos restaurant during the walk. No shops, bakery or supermarket nearby. Watercooker in the room, with some tea and two coffee, but no refills. WiFi and TV service is good.

The location of the hotel is lovely. Unfortunately it is not a 4 star hotel. We stayed in a room that had a jacuzzi tub that didn't work and also a trouser press that didn't work. When we spoke to reception they said the reason was that it wasn't a comfort room ( so it seems they just charge less for the room rather than repairing it). One particular member of staff was particularly rude to me when I asked some questions about the menu at dinner so could understand options for my child, actually walking away in the middle of me still trying to understandthe options. Had we an alternative restaurant to eat at nearby I would have left immediately. We had to change room on the final night and paid the reception (2 previous nights rate had included breakfast) there was no mention that this rate didn't include breakfast, on check out they charged us for breakfast with no apology when suggested they should have made this clear during the payment of the room. The comfort room while big was unclean, the bath had hair in it and cobwebs on the ceiling. The hotel in general feels like it needs a good clean. The charm of it being an old hotel shouldn't mean they don't maintain it well. I will not stay here again.

Altes charmantes Hotel in schöner Lage direkt am Wald. Das Zimmer war renovierungsbedürftig, aber sauber, die Betten waren gut. Das Bad war klein, innenliegend mit Badewanne und hohem Einstieg. Das Frühstück war ok, der Service leider überfordert. Die Aussenterrasse ist schön, leider etwas ungepflegt. Echter Nachteil: das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb von Stadtzentrum und hat eine schlechte öffentliche Anbindung. Taxi ist erforderlich, schade.

Zomers verblijf in Hotel Mastbosch Breda Samen met mijn vriendin op een van de nieuwe kamers op de 3e verdieping geslapen. Zeker een aanrader in combinatie met het ruime en zonnige terras! S’avonds heerlijk op het terras gedineerd. Wij komen zeker terug!

Om de 70e verjaardag van mijn partner te vieren had ik een arrangement geboekt voor zaterdag/maandag. Voor aankomst had ik nog een upgrade geboekt tot executive suite en twee elektrische fietsen besteld voor de zondag. De kamer zag er op de foto’s goed uit maar viel knap tegen. Er zou koffie en thee aanwezig zijn. Er was een koffiemachine met pads maar geen waterkoker. Ook geen lepeltjes overigens. Waterkoker werd op verzoek gebracht. Extra kussens pas na twee keer vragen. De badkamer was steenkoud en verwarming was niet aanwezig. Verlichting bij de spiegel afwezig of kapot. De afsluiter van het bad was kapot en pas na enig zoeken kon het bad afgedicht worden. We misten een plek om de koffers op te leggen. De fietsen moesten we zondag zelf gaan zoeken in het fietsenhok. Het welkomst diner was okay maar de keuze beperkt. Het gratis drankje met bittergarnituur was boven verwachting. Ik herinnerde mij het hotel van bijeenkomsten in 1978. Toen een prima hotel. Vanaf dat moment is er denk ik niet veel gerenoveerd. Voor een betaling van ruim €560 hadden we meer verwacht en zeker van de upgrade. Vergane glorie voor een glorieuze prijs.
