Berwick Lodge

Stayed in Kappadokia room, booked via Secret Escapes for 2 nights bed, breakfast and £40 per person towards evening meal on both nights. A beautiful boutique manor house with fabulous period features and gorgeous grounds. Everything exuded opulence and the staff were always helpful and friendly. Dinner could be chosen from a standard menu or a la carte. Both menus were of an exceptionally high standard. We chose dishes from each, and it was all sublime. Coupled with the surroundings, it felt like we were eating at a Michelin starred restaurant. For breakfast there was plenty of choice and it was all cooked to perfection. On arrival, we had a minor issue when the room above us allowed their roll-top bath to overflow! We had an impromptu shower in our bathroom as a result, but this was dealt with promptly and with much apology by the staff, who also ensured that the issue would not be repeated and gave us complimentary drinks to atone for the inconvenience. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here, and we were also given a tip that if you find a deal online, please call the hotel before booking because they may be able to match or exceed it if you book directly with them.

Last night I went to Berwick Lodge for the first time for an overnight stay and a 3 course meal with my loved one. We arrived early and had a seamless check in and entered our room which was the Lydia Suite. The room was honestly stunning and looked like something from a French Chateau with all matching majestic furniture and a view of the garden and even across the water to Wales. The bed was so comfortable and felt more like a cloud than a mattress and the bathroom was just beautiful with a freestanding bath and beautiful tiled floors. We went down early for a drink in the lobby whilst we pondered over the menu with cocktails and nibbles and then we were taken through to the dining room and had crab to start, trout and tortelini and my other half had steak. Honestly the whole experience was just a perfect little getaway and it was a shame we had to check out quite early to get home. Unfortunately we missed the breakfast but the staff and owner even offered to send us home with some pastries since we missed it. Can't wait to come back again!

Booked for afternoon tea the location and atmosphere is so relaxed the presentation of the choice of teas and the sandwiches could not be faulted The building and the interior rooms made for a relaxing special occasion the food was fresh tasty and well presented nothing to fault Will definitely be returning
