My fiancé and I were considering the Surf Hotel for our wedding venue and were initially excited. However, our experience quickly turned sour. Despite scheduling a meeting with Rachael Gardner, the manager of events, she was consistently late and unprepared. She provided conflicting information and pressured us to sign a contract on the spot with a misleading price quote. Upon reviewing the contract, we discovered hidden fees and discrepancies. When addressed, Rachael was dismissive and unprofessional, displaying a lack of concern for our experience. Despite our reservations, we reluctantly signed the contract, hoping to avoid further interaction with her. Unfortunately, our interactions with Rachael and the Surf Hotel staff only worsened. We were labeled as difficult clients for simply seeking clarification and consistent communication. The staff's unprofessionalism, including being placed on speakerphone without consent and being hung up on by the Director of Wedding/Events, Tana, left us feeling frustrated and disrespected. Additionally, the wedding staff repeatedly addressed emails to me using my fiancé's name and vice versa, despite our efforts to correct them. Overall, our experience with the Surf Hotel's wedding team was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. Their lack of transparency, dismissive attitude, and poor communication practices made us question why anyone would choose to host their wedding there. HIGHLY SUGGEST NEVER HAVING YOUR WEDDING HERE TANA SCOTT, RACHAEL GARDNER are highly unprofessional.
