Burley Manor

Set in such a beautiful tranquil place in the New Forest, Burley Manor exceeded our expectations! Its picturesque front garden with deers running free, to its amazing front entrance of a stunning log burning fire enriched with a beautiful aroma in the air, topped off with a very warm cosy feeling. Could it get any better?... to then be greeted on the front desk by a kind, smiley, happy and funny lady by the name of Marylyn just made us feel at home right away. Once to our room, where its location was just perfect and easy access we entered into a very cosy bright place. The bathroom was gorgeous, its shower was grand and so relaxing and the big sink such a nice touch. Not a bad thing to say about the room... apart from we found it difficult getting out of bed in the morning as it was too comfy as we sleep so well 😀. Burley Manors breakfast, lunch and dinner was all just amazing. Huge thank you to the chefs and kitchen staff for the brilliant food. Lastly the staff were all so lovely and friendly! Keep up the amazing work. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed the food. The grounds, the reception and bar and lounge area full of charm. The location is beautiful. Our room had all we needed, comfy bed. Staff on the whole lovely. We had done a summer deal, so felt it was good value, BUT if we’d paid full price I’d say we’d have expected more. Food and beverages very pricey, but we did enjoy our breakfast and dinner a great deal. The hotel needs a tidy, it needs better cleaning (our room and bed was spotless, more so a clean of paintwork, dining chairs etc) just general maintenance, it feels a little neglected in areas. Parking good, Wi-Fi was good. Deer park right outside. Our one big concern- we had to evacuate at 4.45am one morning, fire alarm, and stand outside until the fire service arrived and checked. There was only one member of staff there (Victoria), she handled it all very well and professionally, but what a stress and responsibility on one person!! A lot of guests were elderly, a lot of guests took ages to evacuate (clearly getting fully dressed and packing bags to bring out!), and Victoria had to rally guests, be in the phone reporting the situation, counting guests and marking them off … all on one person!! We felt for her. But like I say, she did well! We would return, but only on another offer/deal, not full price unless the manor is spruced up.

Burley Manor is a lovely hotel with an amazing countryside view, if you're lucky you can see the deer that come through on to the main grounds. My partner had paid for a package that included the following - Afternoon Tea Spa massage 1-night stay The afternoon tea was sublime the room where we were sat was lovely and decorated well. All the cakes and sandwiches were freshly baked/ made on-site, we couldn't even finish all the little cakes and treats at the afternoon tea. - 10/10 would recommend. I had the Drift away massage and it was so relaxing definitely recommend getting a massage or a spa treatment. The rooms were really nice and decorated tastefully, the beds were comfy and the pillows were so fluffy! We also booked a dinner at the hotel (was not apart of the package), the dinner was incredible my partner had the Lamb which was melt in your mouth and I had the chicken which was succulent and juicy. Bonus - as it was my birthday we had rose champagne given to us on the house! This was very nice and made the stay even better. The best part of the stay was how comfortable we felt at the hotel, the staff need a round of applause as they were very accommodating and welcoming. Their waiting skills were impeccable and genuinely did not feel uncomfortable at any point. Overall I would definitely recommend Burley Manor and will definitely be returning in the near future.

Really good stay overall but the property needs a bit of TLC, our room had a massive gap under the door where light and noises went through until late, room situated next to entry to the hallway didn’t help much, the room would benefit having a thick curtain covering the door or simply a soundproof door. Overall the room was comfy and had amazing views.

Bedroom stiffling hot and no window to open, bathroom was like a sauna after 1 shower. Breakfast very underwhelming. Think it was left under the heat lamps so dried up amd tasteless. Will not be going back

I went to a wedding at Burley Manor and it was exquisite. I wouldn’t normally stay at a place like this as it’s out of my price range but this was a lovely weekend in the New Forest.

There were too many staff standing around doing nothing. Service was incredibly slow. Starters were served before any drinks arrived. We were served the wrong water, the wrong wine and the wrong meal and dessert (apple and blackberry crumble arrived 30 min before the custard (which was stone cold and frankly awful)). The fact that we added a note that we were celebrating a special birthday went completely unnoticed. The rooms had visible water damage, filthy carpets and again no small gesture/no note was left for the birthday celebrations.

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. There are certain areas that need renovating but overall a lovely place to stay. We stayed in the garden room and had a lovely view.

Burley Manor was exactly what we were looking for as a location for a long weekend in the New Forest; beautiful Hotel in stunning surroundings, well placed to visit anywhere in the Forest. The restaurant was a little disappointing (both breakfast and dinner) and there was some noise from the Barn; the hotel's wedding venue but otherwise we had a perfect stay.
