I don't recommend people stay here. Our experience: We reserved a "suite" for three days in July based on reviews on this website. The suites are more expensive than non-suite rooms. But there didn't seem to be anything particularly special about them. The rooms seemed poorly constructed. The door, for example, which I've pictured below, didn't fit the door frame. So, we could see light through the gap during the day and bugs crawling through the same at night. The amenities were tolerable at best. Two queen beds, which were fine, dirty floor, dirty shower, slowly draining bathroom sink, and two of the smallest and I imagine cheapest bars of motel soap I have ever seen. The room was not turned over after our first full day in the area. So, we returned from a full day at McArthur-Burney Falls to a room with a full garbage, still-dirty floor, no clean towels, and two unmade beds. Our room smelled like skunk both nights, which I looked into for a moment only to find some of the occupants from one of the adjacent rooms smoking what I believe to be **** outside their door. In total: the sum of our experience at Shasta Pines Motel was so poor that we chose to cut our vacation short by a day, pack up, and drive home. I don't recommend people stay here. We tried it for two nights and chose not to stay for a third.
