My wife and I stayed at the Cumberland Resort for a week. On arrival we thought that the resort looked a bit run down, but we were reassured by the warmth of the welcome and our accommodation was newly refurbished and spotless. Our package included the supply of a car and although it was fairly old, like the vast majority of vehicles on Norfolk Island, it did the job very well. Cumberland Resort is self catering, but all the essentials were supplied in a starter kit, and could be topped up by guests as needed. The resort is located at the far end of Burnt Pine, coming from the airport, but is only a short walk to the shops, restaurants etc. It is very handy for tours, sight seeing etc. The resort would be very appealing to families or friends holidaying together, with a variety of accommodation, a good size pool and of course spa facilities. However the big draw are the friendly and helpful staff who go out their way to assist visitors.
