Crown Hotel

The crown holtel is located in Downtown Cairo, which makes it easy to quickly get to the points of interest, either on foot or by taxi. Because it is situated on the 3rd floor on a small street, it is calm, which is not easy to find in a big city. It is clean, so that you can feel comfortable. Good free WiFi. Breakfast is excellent. The staff is very friendly and is helping whenever you ask for help. They are also helping to organize tours, for example to the pyramids, without pushing you to something. This is very pleasing, because normally, people want to urge you to buy their offers. When we come again to Cairo, we will definitely stay again in the Crown Hotel.

I booked this hotel after seeing good reviews and it did not fail to meet my expectations. The hotel is close to all the amenities. Close to many shops, restaurants and transport. The guys Tony, Ahmed and Noor were very nice, courteous and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality was excellent and they made me very comfortable during my four-day stay, they ordered food and called a taxi for me whenever I needed it. The room was very clean and well-maintained. I have decided to stay only in this hotel during my next trip as well. A wonderful unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to stay close to the city centre and not very expensive.

This hotel is very bad full of nonesense. For many reasons : 1. I paid over £400 for my stay . They knew my room number however evevrytime I leave my room I'm constantly asked what's my room number . Workers there ask for money for literally everything for opening your bedroom door they ask you for money . Visitors can't stay in your hotel room for more than an hour , visitors have to stay no more than 30 minutes in the downstairs longue area . Also to warm food you have to pay so for example you pay £10GBP Per plate of food when using their microwave this is terrible service and behaviour . Practically every staff member at that hotel except for a lovely lady at the reception area who saw to me on arrival constantly asked for money for every little thing. This is awful behaviour by the hotel please avoid and do not use ever ! Breakfast served there was also awful all pastries were stale the only thing that was fresh were the fried eggs made on that morning. Avoid at all costs !!

this was a very mixed bag. beware possible payment problems. the staff were absolutely delightful and could not do enough for us and, at first glance, all was well. we were a group of 5, two rooms were lovely and spacious one was small. but each room had issues. one room, there was an unpleasant toilet smell. in my room the bathroom flooded when you used the shower and the toilet wobbled when you sat on it. the pillows in all rooms were like large concrete blocks. all of this we would have overlooked with a smile as the welcome was so warm, but the big issue was payment. my fault entirely, I thought the rooms had been paid in advance via *********** (as on all my other bookings) but it transpired payment was due at the hotel. but this didnt come up until the last minute (god knows why they didnt ask for payment when we checked in as is the norm) when it turned out they cant take Egyptian currency only dollars - (fine, if we'd allowed for that) and when my friend tried to pay by card it would only process £200 at a time. so multiple transactions were required. on different cards. with some cash. in the end she was helped by other guests who paid some for her and she transferred money to them. all very very upsetting and sressful as most of the group had left and the remaining guest felt held to ransom. i offered to pay by immediate bank transfer, by amex over the phone, by going back to the hotel later, but that was declined. it spoilt a nice visit and I am still not sure how payment could have been best paid without either large amounts of $ or a large number of different cards.v

The hotel is hidden in the dowtown Cairo. It is very nice and super clean. Karin at the reception was super, super helpful. We could do it again with no problem. The price and the hotel are great. It is in downtown, so you can do so walking around with no problem.

This is a small hotel and it is similar to staying in a cute pension in France or Spain. The property is perfectly located downtown, and is down a side street off the main road so you are away from most of the traffic and noise. I'd read that taxi's can't find the hotel but we used Uber and had no problems at all. The hotel is on the 3rd floor of an old colonial building and it has a cute retro elevator. There is a nice man who looks after the elevator and he will show you how to use it. We were 3 adults (parents and adult son) and stayed in the family room with balcony. The room is large enough for a few days and was perfectly adequate for our stay. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Every day the breakfast is different and is delivered to your room and served on the balcony. Breakfast is served at approximately 9am unless you are leaving early for a tour. When we had an 8.30am pick up breakfast was served at 8am. While we were visiting, the balcony doors were replaced with new double glazed doors which mostly blocks out any noise from the street. The hotel staff are kind and very helpful with anything you might need. While we were there we did the pyramid tour which the hotel arranged (a whole day touring 3 pyramid sites) which I recommend. Only 1 very small issue we experienced is the water from the shower can make the bathroom floor a little wet because the shower curtain doesn't go all the way to the floor. This was very minor and did not cause a problem for us. All in all a great stay and I will stay at this hotel when I visit Cairo again.
