Tropical Paradise

Overall a nice stay for one of the more budget friendly hotels on the island. Bathroom was a little dirty and the water from the shower smelt a little. Pool next to the sea is a nice addition

The hotel needs a bit of TLC,repair locks on doors to rooms and re -fix plug socket to wall. Some staff not friendly or helpful at all. We asked for a cup of ice and were told to wait until the bar opened!

Everything was perfect, the pool Is amazing, and the personal was very helpful with all our questions. Henry helped us to book for the snorkel and with very good adresses to have a good meal, the hotel was very quiet and we have enjoyed all the experience, we will be back for sure

The hotel had a coastal vibe, on the water, pool, pool bar, and restaurant. The office staff was great. The rest... meh. The "bartender" at the pool bar was not inviting at all. She had her back to the pool and was on her phone most of the time like she would rather be anywhere else. Also, one of the employees who wasn't working had her kids at the pool, she was on her phone with her back to the kids. The little boy (and we like kids) was loud and annoying. The rooms were run down and in desperate need of maintenance. I asked a housekeeping staff at 9am for toilet paper and two more towels. Had to go to the office to ask again around 5pm because we never received them. At that time, I told the office staff that we had asked at 9am and she was visibly not okay with that not having been taken care of earlier. Within 5-10 minutes they were delivered to our room.. Also, there were no "please no housekeeping" signs for the room. We stay at ALL kinds of places and aren't picky but this is definitely a one and done experience.. that being said, again the office/check in staff was good and the guy, Henry, who runs the tours side of things was amazing! He was helpful, personable, knowledgeable and went the extra mile more than once! He made an otherwise forgetable stay end on a positive note.

This hotel was OK to stay at, but the management was horrible. Staff was wonderful and treated us very good, we had booked a tour on Saturday to go, snorkelling with star tours their company there, but the weather changed on Sunday so we could not go out it was very windy, extremely choppy and raining, so we put it off to the next day. The weather had not changed, on the third day, the water was still very choppy and windy. There was a couple that tried to get their money back, and they refused to pay their money back so they went out on the tour anyhow, as they were leaving the island the next day. We were due to leave on Thursday, and we had wanted to do other things on the island other than sit around and waiting to take a snorkel tour, we asked for a refund and they refused to give it to us. I had talked to other tour companies that told me when the weather is not permitted that they give you 100% refund. I talked to the manager and she refused to give us any money back after arguing with her for sometime she forced me to write and sign a piece of paper and gave me $25 US out of 100, my friend had paid $100 as well and as far as I’m concerned they politely ripped us off so converting it to US is 100 Canadian is $130. I was very upset about it and argued with the lady who didn’t give a care about it, I would not recommend taking star tours and paying upfront because if the weather is bad, you’ll never get your money back she treated us badly as well as the pool was a slimy green. We couldn’t swim in it and nobody would want to after watching all the chemicals, they were trying to dump into it to change the colour of the water. It was not a good experience, and I would never stay there again for those reasons our room was old nothing fancy, but it was clean. We had no screens on our windows or door so we could never open them. I feel if you can’t deliver. The goods at the customer should get 100% refund. I noticed on the third day they were taking pictures of the water water the calmer areas and taking pictures of the people leaving on the boat, to make it look good, but trust me, the water was really rough and me not being a good swimmer, I could never have done the tour anyhow was way too choppy for a snorkel tour customers beware don’t pay tours upfront until you’re sure you’re going in the weather is permit Able because you’ll never get your money back. This manager should be working somewhere else because she’s got no respect for what the customer think or feel and she’ll never give you your money back once she’s got it in her hand.

Location is good but the rooms are really tired and in need of upgrade. Doorframe in our 'cabin' was rotten so the door would only close after WE screwed the frame back. Shower curtain not long enough so water all over the floor. No room make up on our stay. Breakfast service was bad - staff looked puzzled when we went into the restaurant at 8.00am, like 'Why are you here?'. When it eventually came the food was not good. I get that the island is a laid back place but this place is so laid back it's horizontal.

Simple clean rooms with great ac. Nice pool and close to everything. Off the front street and pretty pruvate too. Henry is the man who will arrange anything you need. He's always on the beach to greet you and make sure you don't need anything. The pool and pool bar were fantastic. Definitely will return!

We did not stay at this hotel, but we went on a snorkeling trip with Chris and Jeremy, which was spectacular. Chris was very funny!! Both of them were very polite and kind. Chris even dragged someone that couldn't snorkel on her own. I also want to give a shout out to Henry, who set this all up and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. We loved Henry!! Thanks for a great time! We will be back, Terry and Donna.

We were guests here for seven days. They have a Kind and Polite staff. Good views, good pool, good location, good drinks, good local knowledge. The Rooms are not fancy, but very comfortable and cleaned daily. The pool and poolside bar are very convenient and refreshing -- the staff were diligent in keeping it clean. Excellent snorkeling opportunities depart from the dock directly in front of the hotel. Mr Henry organized us a boat, gear, and lunch with Captain Chris -- a perfect trip for experienced snorkelers and a six year old boy. If you want a clean comfortable low key "Island Vibe" experience, you will not be disappointed by choosing Tropical Paradise Hotel. Me my wife and six year old boy had an amazing experience and we will be returning.
