First impressions was a shocker - the small rundown building wasn't what I was expecting. The rooms were desperate need of maintenance. The service was efficient but frosty. The next day i realised it's probably not too bad for Delhi, i just had different expectations. I'm guessing for the price in Delhi, Hotel Florence is probably decent. It has all the trimmings of a classy hotel just not so well executed. It's located in central Delhi, however given the lack of footpaths and crazy traffic it's not pleasant to walk around but that's like all of Delhi. Not that there's much in the area anyway unless you like local street markets. As a result we ate dinner in the restaurant upstairs. The food is pretty tasty, clean and fairly cheap too, dinner for 2 cost us about 1200rs including drinks. It's worth checking out the food! Likewise breakfast is pretty decent too, not huge range but what they did serve was good. Surprisingly good service too. The rooms itself were "modern" but needed a renovation, the bathroom was falling apart (minimal amenities) and the a/c reeked of petrol fumes when we first turned it on. The window was encrusted with brown dirt so thick it might have well been a windowless room. It's also quite noisy as well from staff, doors banging and footsteps. That said the rooms are large and clean (as was the bed), the soundproofing from outside noise was good, the a/c was effective, and most importantly the free wifi signal was strong and super fast. We stayed for 2 nights and although initially shocked after being better acquainted with Delhi, it wasn't so bad and we did have a comfortable stay.
