The New Inn

Fabulous stay at The New Inn. We took our dog and stayed in dog friendly room. Very clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Food is amazing. We had breakfast and evening meals while there and everything was perfect. Beautiful location. Will definitely visit again.

Absolutely lovely stay. We were here for a wedding, but we were royally well looked after. The room was seriously well appointed and a delight. We had a lovely glass of wine in the bar - delicious. And our breakfast was great - lovely food and fantastic service. A great combination and we highly recommend. We will definitely be coming back.

We stayed for a couple of nights which turned out to be too short as the The New Inn is an amazing place to stay in a beautiful location. The Inn itself has a really welcoming vibe, the bar is well stocked and the food is delicious. As for the room we stayed in, it is beautifully decorated, comfortable, a great mini bar and like a home from home. The staff are all friendly and go the extra mile to make your visit enjoyable. Next time we go it will be for longer.

The New Inn is situated in the attractive Dorset village of Cerne Abbas, and the exterior and main rooms blend in well with the character of the village. The bedrooms are compact, modern and comfortable (superb mattress), located around the inn's courtyard, where there is an external seating area, and a large garden at the rear of the inn. On arrival, I was greeted by Haley, the manager, who turned out to be a star - efficient, helpful and friendly (as well as seeming to be always on duty). There is a well-balanced food and wine list. I sampled both; my dinner was outstanding - a cheese souffle, followed by a fillet steak cooked in bearnaise sauce - and the white and red wine I drank were of a good quality. Prices were acceptable, given the quality. And again, the inclusive breakfast offered a wide choice, and was delicious. Cerne Abbas and the New Inn are to be highly recommended for a visit.

We stayed 3 nights in a lovely room (Asker), but had some issues which detracted from our overall stay. No fridge in room. Instead, there was a communal fridge with help yourself milk, but not replenished on first day!! They did however apologise for this; Nice seating alcove with a bed settee which had seen better days and needs replacing. Also lighting in this area poorly designed; Very slow wi-fi; Some noise from other residents above, also pub chairs and tables right outside the room, so could be noisy in warmer months;

Such a great Inn in the heart of picturesque Cerne Abbas. Warm and friendly and hospitable owners and hosts, full of great local recommendations, a fantastic restaurant, comfortable beds, well appointed rooms, a super find in a special corner of southern England

Our visit was for our anniversary meal. We had passed it in the car and decided it looked a nice place, checked the menu online and booked in. We choose the steak. A 10oz Rib Eye. I asked for medium rare and was advised that the chef recommended it medium. I decided to listen to the chef. Very glad i did, it was delightful. Cooked in a bernaise butter and topped with wild mushrooms, spinach and a tomato compote it was simply delicious. I’ve not had such a good steak in years. We followed this with a chocolate delice topped with roasted chocolate and cherry and chocolate caramel. We added a scoop of very fine vanilla ice cream.

This is a very nice hotel in a great spot in the middle of Dorset. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable. The staff who run the hotel are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. The best part about this place though is the food, it’s fantastic. There is a wide range of choice at breakfast, the full English is fantastic. Dinner is brilliant, there is a good selection of dishes to choose from, make sure you book though, it can get busy. The lamb and sea bass is particularly good. Overall, this is great place to stay, the staff, accommodation and food are first class. The Morris family

We stayed for one night as we had a wedding close by, we had 3 rooms total. The place is super clean and very looked after most probably they had a refurbishment not to long ago. Food is excellent and cooked very well, you can tell that they have an actual chef in the kitchen as everything was cooked to perfection. Very friendly staff and very accommodating I cannot mention one negative thing. Keep it up we will see you again for sure
