Excellent quality food, friendly staff, comfy room overlooking chagford and generally a lovely relaxing couple days away for our anniversary. Car park a 2 minute walk away which you can pay for by app so can extend parking from hotel if needed. Gorgeous walk up to Melden hill, outskirts of chagford. Plenty of amenities in village just don’t take the sat nav road in!! Very narrow track!!

We have stayed here several times and had several different rooms - we have never been disappointed. The rooms have always been spotless and comfortable and the food good. The Atrium restaurant is very pleasant … It’s a central location and Chagford is an interesting place to stay …. We like to pay extra for a room that includes parking, but it’s only a 5 minute walk to the public car park . We’ve already booked our next stay

We travelled back to Chagford to visit the village where my father in law and his family all grew up. My husband always used to stay at the Three Crowns when he visited. The hotel has changed quite abit over the years, however it has still managed to retain its original beauty. The food was excellent and the staff was very polite. However on our 2nd night stay of our 3 night break we had a phone call regarding a personal family matter and had to leave early before breakfast to make the 5-6 hour drive back and missed our last day and night. I feel it was in poor taste for the hotel to still charge the full 3 nights, so for this reason I have given a poor rating.

A lovely village with a choice of places to eat and several shops. The hotel bar area and restaurant were great. However, the room we had was very small and had little storage. SPECIAL MENTION for staff who were working on Sunday 14th July the night of the eufa football final. The two girls waiting tables and the manager in charge were really friendly and totally professional.

A great experience all round. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. Good decor in historic 16th century Inn. Great food, good wine list. Nice location in charming village. It has accommodation too but we only had dinner. Good value for both food and wine. Highly recommended

We started with the scotch duck egg and. Bread with dipping oil. Both were delicious then we had the fish sharing platter with one serving of chips. The fish selection was perfect. To be honest we didn’t need the chips. Friendly efficient service.

First time vising Three Crowns and certainly not disappointed! The atmosphere was lovely and the food was fantastic - we had a seafood platter for one and ploughmans for one, freshly made and great ingredients, especially the duck egg scotch egg. We will definitely return and recommend.

We stayed in a courtyard room, first floor. It is noisy as mentioned in a prior review, especially in nice weather with people close by. The room ventilation was poor so window needed to be open. There was broken glass outside our door that was never picked up (although requested twice). Shower walls were dirty. Perhaps the upstairs rooms are much nicer. There is character and history about the common areas which was appreciated. Also the dining solarium was very pleasant. I would return to have a beer but not stay.

my husband and i visited in feb for lunch we had stakes with pepper corn sauce, everything was totally fabulous, we had previously shared a cheese board and loved the cheeses so we did this again! today we visited with my mum for sunday lunch, it was absolutely outstanding. we also gad deserts, lemon cheese cake and creamer brûlée and cheese board, all were fabulous. on both occasions the food and service was fabulous. well worth the hour drive thank you.
