I'm really sad to share this review because the location was great, and the hotel was lovely, although the rooms are very small and just absolutely stuffed with furniture so you can't move around and weird decor choices (hanging ball lamps that we ran into and clanged every time we went to the bathroom...). There are also no windows and no air conditioning, so it's very hard to cool down your room. Our main issue though was the service. The front desk staff was very nice, but the manager is awful. My first time seeing her I thought she was an angry guest complaining, but it turns out she's just angry. My parents booked this for us as a gift for our honeymoon using points & status, and typically that means a room upgrade, even when it's not celebrating a Honeymoon. No one even congratulated us, but that's besides the point. Our room was apparently upgraded, but we were on the first floor, which meant not as good of a view (the bigger mountains in the distance were blocked by a large building.). Our first night there we were kept up until 2am by people smoking and being very loud outside our room. We had to close our balcony door to keep the smoke out, but that didn't stop the loud voices, and we couldn't sleep due to noise and heat. We asked to move up to hopefully sleep better and be further away from the deck. We learned the manager had "made an exception" to the 9pm quiet rule. By doing so she completely ruined our first night and subsequently day there because we didn't sleep and were exhausted. She had no remorse, did nothing to make up for that, and wouldn't even move us to a higher room. She said all the higher rooms were booked, which was a blatant lie. We went online and we could have booked a 4th floor suite (an upgrade we would usually get at a Marriott especially for a Honeymoon booking, but apparently not this one) and there were other rooms available as well, so she completely lied to us. Then the nail on the coffin for this place. We were told the times for breakfast when we arrived, and we looked through to see if there was a price on breakfast. It wasn't stated in the paperwork we received, the email we recieved, or anywhere online. Every other Marriott tells you the price for breakfast when you check in if it's not included. Online it said breakfast was included, so we went to breakfast each morning. When we checked out they charged us FORTY FRANCS a person for breakfast, and said because we booked with points breakfast wasn't free/included. For everyone else it was included. That means we paind $47 each for breakfast, $94 total, which is OBSCENE. I paid $47 for $5 worth of food - yogurt, tea, and bread. My husband had eggs with that, so maybe $15 worth of food. We never would have had breakfast there if we knew the price was so obscene. It was literally never stated. I will be calling Marriott to attempt to reverse these hidden fees, and to complain about the service at this Marriott. I will say - th
