I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Taj Wellington Mews in Chennai was so awful, I felt compelled to warn others. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this place doesn't live up to its "luxury" reputation. First of all, the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. It felt like they couldn’t care less about their guests. I had an absolutely horrendous experience at Taj Wellington Mews, Chennai, and I feel compelled to warn others. I was treated with the utmost disrespect and had my personal space completely violated. After a long day of travel, I was just looking forward to a peaceful check-in, but instead, I was subjected to an invasive bag check. What was worse was that they insisted on physically frisking my bag, without any prior explanation or consent. It felt like I was being treated like a criminal, not a guest. This was an appalling breach of privacy. When I questioned why this was happening, the staff simply shrugged it off and acted as if it was standard procedure. I’ve stayed at many luxury hotels, but I’ve never experienced such a humiliating and unprofessional approach to guests. This kind of behavior is not only inconsiderate but downright intrusive. A hotel of this caliber should respect their guests' privacy and dignity. Instead, they made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome from the moment I stepped through their doors. I could go on and on about the terrible experience, but to sum it up: Taj Wellington Mews is a total waste of money. I’m shocked by how far it has fallen from the Taj brand’s usual standard. TAJ IS A BIG NO. If anyone is looking for a place that values privacy and treats you like a respected guest, avoid Taj Wellington Mews at all costs. I will never return to this disrespectful establishment.
