Hilton Garden Inn Chesapeake/Greenbrier

Pros: - near lots of restaurants and shops -The room was very spacious - Room had a microwave + mini fridge - comes with breakfast - lobby was very nice and had food + drinks Cons: - requires $25 holding fee once you arrive - room was dirty - found multiple used tissues on top of the AC unit - visible grease marks / smudges on the headboard and night stands.

Nice stay

Sad, but our stay was pretty crummy. While front desk staff were pleasant..they couldn’t fix the following… A. Phone in room didn’t work, so we reported problem. After 2 days front staff said (after we asked) that phone could not be fixed. B. Party outside in the parking lot one night woke us up. Tried to call front desk..but DUH…phone didn’t work. Used our cell. After 30 minutes the party disbanded. (=- 2 am) C. Went to on-site restaurant and ordered a “cooked to order” breakfast. It showed up cold. D. Carpeting showed heavy stains in the hallways and in our room. Trash in the hallways. E. While showering, water ran ice cold for a minute in the middle of my shower. Not pleasant with shampoo in your hair. F. No room service for 3 nights, despite the card attached to bathroom mirror that stated room would be serviced every 2 days. Learned that you are required to request it in person at front desk. We stay in at least 15 Hilton properties every year, and this one was of the worst.

The hotel is under renovation, so we understood the pool may be closed and the lobby a little torn up. Did not expect the amount of construction mess everywhere. The worst part of the stay was the day staff having some issues with the computers at check in, which them struggling to get us checked in. This led to one of the worst customer service issues I've experienced. The night clerk called our room, not once but twice, at 1 am, because she saw we were assigned a room, but the computer did not show us as signed in. That could not have waited until a decent hour. This guest service snafu is the single thing that would deter me from staying again.

This is one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in, and there have been quite a few. They have some rooms which have a private bedroom set off from the sitting area, and we were lucky to acquire one for our stay. The personnel whom we met were very accommodating. Keep in mind that they do have a restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner, but at this hotel breakfast is not free, but you have a choice of a breakfast buffet or cooked to order breakfast for a fee.

Stayed here for a short stay . But checked in super early . Room was neat and clean. Located in a place with lots of restaurants and shopping . Everyone I encountered was very polite . Would stay at this property again. The property is undergoing construction but there was no noise or disruption from it

I had room 202 and there were people partying playing corn hole outside in the courtyard till 11:30 pm and I asked the front desk what the quiet hours were and he said that he had never heard of quiet hours at a hotel. He also seemed generally annoyed that I was upset about not being able to sleep at 10:30pm on a Saturday and acted like there was nothing he could do. At this point I had been up for over 24 hours and I thought I was staying at a decent hotel.

The check in was good. Super nice clerk. But when we got up to the room the TV refused to work. The bathroom light was hooked to the fan which was super loud. The road noise was excessive and nearly constant. The bed sheets were not tucked properly so the fitted sheet kept coming off the mattress. In the fitness room the two TVs didn’t work. The peloton bike wouldn’t log in. And there was zero cleaning items to sanitize the equipment after each use. Won’t stay at this place again.

Very convenient location, great staff. The property is about to undergo renovation, and not a moment too soon!!! It was quiet and we were able to rest well, but call ahead before booking here to determine the status of the renovations. We also ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and the food and service were very good. This hotel is old, but well situated near lots of new stores and restaurants. Hopefull the renovations will revive this property.
