Embassy Suites by Hilton Baltimore Hunt Valley

We used to stay at this hotel on a regular basis when in town to visit relatives but hadn't been here for more than 15 years. We were curious to see if all of these bad reviews are true. Location-wise, this hotel is only about 20+ minutes from Inner Harbor, the convention center, and the sports arenas. Price-wise, Embassy Suites is about the same, but with an ample self-parking lot ($12 for overnight parking at the time of this review). There's a ton of shops and restaurants within a short drive or walking distance (the roads do get DARK at night). Our stay was mostly pleasant. The rooms aren't the fanciest, but they're clean and comfortable, and with a pull out couch in a separate living area, they are ideal for a traveling family. The towels were clean and soft, there were some toiletries provided (shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap, body wash, etc.). The rooms had plenty of USB ports as well, so you can charge your electronics from different areas of each room. The temperature was comfortable and the tvs worked fine. The only issues were: to-go coffee cup with lids that were too small and our door kept getting stuck, making it difficult to enter or leave the room. The complimentary evening social hour was a nice touch (lots of happy and relaxed guests sipping drinks and conversating), and the breakfast buffet was very satisfying, with a sufficient amount of hot and cold choices. The made-to-order omelets were great! The staff were very friendly and accommodating, attentive to any concerns. During my stay, there were a lot of business travelers, and I overheard many of them say that the this Embassy Suites is their go-to hotel. I saw some happy families here as well. I was told by a member of the staff that this hotel can get pretty crowded during the summer months. I can't rate the pool, as we didn't use it during our stay, but I know it was functional. One of the four elevators was out of service, but the one next to it was working, and the two near my room worked perfectly fine. Other than that crazy difficult door to my room, I have no complaints about our stay. If you're looking for the Ritz, stay somewhere else. If you're looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay with a good value for your money, look no further!

BEWARE! Your car wheels might be jacked. We stayed two nights to celebrate a wedding and on the second night all four wheels were stolen (see pic). (The wheels even had locking nuts). Great wedding gift. And when the cops arrived, they said "yeah, we know this place and their security cameras don't work". Stay away or at least take your junk heap car, if you go there.

Our stay was great! The room was very clean. With any hotel, there are touch ups that need maintaining, but I didn't see many. The elevators, as someone else mentioned, were a but frustrating as they didn't all work and the buttons didn't light up as they should, but with our stay being during a slower time, and with us being on a leisurely trip, it didn't bother us. The breakfast area was so clean and the omelet station was great. The staff was super friendly which for me, means a lot. Cleanliness is number one for me even if the hotel needs some maintenance. Interaction with staff is 2nd. Great stay, thank you!

Worst Embassy Suites stay ever! Let's start at the beginning. Four elevators with only three working. Not only were the slow but 90% of the buttons never light up so you have no idea what to expect. The door latch to the room was so difficult to open! Facilities supposedly looked at it once but it never got better. I had to swipe my card, lift the handle up and body slam the door for it to open. There was a water leak onto the floor at the base of the toilet that resulted in a constant puddle. Asked for it to be fixed twice but it still leaks. My stay was 3 weeks long for business and I only used housekeeping three times....each time worse than the one before. They sometimes took the trash, but not always. This last time they took all the dirty linens and replaced NONE of them! No towels, no cloths, no bath mat. When I called to tell the front desk about this, I was told that they would be brought up immediately. Two hours later....no towels. I had so many bugs (earwigs) every where in the room, including the bed. I asked for those to be treated two separate times yet the pests continued. Second to last night at 4 am, fire detector started chirping every two minutes because it needed a new battery! The only thing that I can praise is the bar staff at the happy hour. They were the only people who actually cared about me as a customer. I don't care if this is the hotel my corporate uses, next time I am in town, I will definitely be staying somewhere else even if it means a longer commute. Absolutely not willing to consider giving this place a second chance based on all of the issues and the lack of way they were addressed.

I've been staying at this hotel occasionally for six months now, for work travel. While the rooms are nice - the suite arrangement is great - the maintenance in the hotel is shoddy. One elevator has never worked; the last time I was there a second was out of order; and the two remaining are unreliable - they stop at random floors and skip the ones selected. On top of that, the inspections for the elevators are expired! I have a consistent problem with the room doors not opening when the keys unlock the doors. This last visit, multiple people in our group - myself included - noted that the thermostats in their rooms were non-functional. To add insult to injury, the hotel charges twelve dollars a night for the "privilege" of parking in their lot. I will be exploring other options for my business travel to Hunt Valley.

for many years, my husband and I have visited this hotel purely for pleasure. Sadly, the hotel management economic cup backs made this last visit is very disappointing. There was no way staff to take our orders for dinner. Instead, the bartender was performing double duties, and so hotel guests had to wait in long lines, the managers reception sadly has been reduced to chips and cheese, the DIRECTV package had no major networks or sports channels, the beautiful waterfall fountain was disconnected. We were told because it was too costly to operate. other comforts like mirrors on the wall and working USB ports added to our disappointment. The hotel lobby is still appealing,

I went to visit family and needed a place nearby that wasn't too expensive and chose the Embassy Suites. I've actually been to this place before but it's been easily 15-20 years since my last visit. The thing about Embassy Suites generally is that they're mostly the same - especially of the properties from the 80s era. Big, open central space and the rooms encircle it. The property is from that era and there are some things that show this in 2023 - like the old and slow elevators, but they've done a good job modernizing the place overall. Like my room. They gave me room 731 which is near the elevators closest to the lobby. Nice. The view overlooks an office park next door (there's not much to see in Hunt Valley). Imagine an 80s era room but modernized with marble counters and nicer fixtures with wifi, usb chargers and nice curtains and you've got 731. It was very pleasant and very comfortable. Since its a suite there's an outer room with seating and a kitchenette. I made use of the large screen tv to watch some movies and generally chill. Since it is an 80s-era bathroom, it's small. But they have modernized and it's perfectly fine. Shower was good with lots of pressure and everything worked. There is an indoor pool, but I did not use it. The breakfast is surprisingly good. Lots to choose from and the hot prepared food is pretty good also. No complaints. Staff was great. Welcoming, friendly, informative. Really, there's not much more I could ask for when on the road. I enjoyed my stay and would return again.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. In fact it's one of the better Embassy stays we've had since the pandemic. The property has been around for awhile but the rooms and public areas have been updated. Our room, was clean, comfortable. and quiet. The front desk staff were very nice and extremely helpful. The breakfast service was well organized and offered a nice variety of choices. Quite a few other Embassy properties could use this one as an example. We only had a couple of negatives. The fitness center was very hot. It had to have been over 80 degrees and both ellipticals were worn and difficult to use. Housekeeping must be requested......it's past time to change back to automatic daily service. We did make the request and service was provided; however, I left a note asking for extra towels and they left 1 extra. I expected at least a couple. They also did not replace the bar of soap so I had to get one from the desk. With a couple of minor adjustments, I could give this property a 5 star rating.

I would not recommend this hotel at all. It appears that there is a significant issue with black mold. Despite bringing this matter to their attention, we were relocated to another room, only to discover that the same issue persisted. Furthermore, there were two instances where the water supply was unexpectedly shut off during our stay. One of these occurrences happened while I was in the shower with shampoo in my hair. The hotel's response was rather dismissive, suggesting that I could make do with a few drops of water from the shower. Can you believe it? The housekeeping service was extremely poor. We were forced to use "pool" towels as there were no bath towels available for our room. We had originally planned to stay for two months, but after 30 days and the incident with black mold, we decided to check out 30 days early and book a room at a Marriott Hotel. This hotel has turned into an absolute disgrace.
