The Royal Hotel

One couple served 15 mins after the other couple. Only 4 people in total. Had to remind them & and then the 2 meals appeared instantly. Likely the waitress had forgotten to bring them out. No apology. One meal had uncooked vegetables. Called a waitress over and all she said was “I’ll take it back”, but our friend declined, deciding to omit the veg; and then she said “I’ll tell the chef.” No apologies; just a surly face. We heard nothing more. We should have requested free coffees all round. But they should have been offered. And 2 beef burgers tasted slightly of beef but with something added; likely to bulk it up. Never again.

Great hotel for a visit to the Iron men on Crosby beach. Lovely room, good food and friendly staff . Breakfast was excellent. Car parking at the hotel was efficient. The room was really fab with a great sea view and all in all fairly priced. Would definitely stay again !

Booked this hotel after reading reviews, and it exceeded my expectations. Staff are really friendly and so helpful, nothing was too difficult. They even showed me the room called the Lodge for disabled visitors as they had no lift. Our room was small but had everything you required. The bed was wonderful and comfortable. Crisp white linen. Breakfast was locally sourced, cooked to order, and also continetal option. Had a meal in the restaurant with family, which was also amazing, good selection for starters, mains and desserts, all cooked well. Will visit again. Thank you

Very friendly establishment in a good location near the beach and the Mersey. Food was not impressive in the evenings Our room was excellent and comfortable. Breakfast was much better and the older serving lady….good fun. Overall we would stay again

I booked this as friends live 8 mins away. Even from booking friendly staff, check in informative and friendly lovely Hotel very comfy beds. Car park was free. I came to check in on my own left my Husband with friend, left my car in car park her son came to pick me up asked reception taxi recomendation told me Delta wrote number down for me no problem what time we came back night porter on duty. Phoned the taxi when ready 5 mins he was outside, took us to Hotel just over £5. When he got there he had a pick up from our Hotel. Win win. Slept like a baby had a shower was inside the bath ok for me, to High for my Husband to high. Went down for b/fast cheary greeting from every one, informative pointing where things are, vast choice on menu for hot food, both chose full b/fast minus black pud 1 had beans 1 without absolutely lovely full to bursting came around to say buffet would be closing did we want anything. I didn't Husband had toast with honey on, I made it on one of those grills you put your bread in and comes out warm bread this didn't spot on. When leaving b/fast room wanted to thank them not about asked reception to pass it on. Check out was 11am went a little walk to see the lovely view we had from window a bit breezy came back sat in reception as a friend would lives in kirby was meeting us for a drink before we came home. We checked this was ok and it was fine no problem. While waiting they kept asking if we needed anything just ask. She arrived as long as she put reg in she could have 6 hours no charge parking. We could be there until the time I checked in the day before. We didn't had drink and catch up then went our separate ways. I also found out about the Lodge they have in front of disabled Bay I parked in no stairs and you still have b/fast in main hotel. Got quite busy while we were there, people eating and drinking long may it continue. It's a little gem and keep hold of your lovely staff. Nice homely atmosphere without feeling pompus. My 2 separate friends have eaten here in the past 1 lunchtime with work colleagues and 1 with her Dad for Sunday lunch as he lovedgoing there when he was alive 99 when he died and felt he was going somewhere up market. He was so right it's the people and the place that makes it special. Thank you we will be back next year for sure

On Sunday 18th August 2024 decided during a visit Crosby Liverpool we would find somewhere to have Sunday Lunch as the The Lake House Hotel Where we were staying did not not do a Sunday Lunch and went up the path to the Royal Hotel . We entered asked the Receptionist if there was any tables available and she said there was , then directed us to the Restaurant where the Waitress directed us to a table . We chose the Two Course Menu @ £24.95 each . My Wife chose the Goats Cheese starter (which was warm ) and Myself the Garlic Mushroom starter , which were both were tastefully excellent . For our Main Courses my Wife chose the Turkey and trimmings and I chose the Cooked Ham off the Bone which came with plenty of vegetables in Abundance which were excellent, a specially the Stickleback Potatoes 🥔 We had a very pleasant bottle Pinot Grigo and we did not have Desert due to the fact we were pleasantly stuffed . Our bill came to £73.65 and I left a reasonable tip , thanked the waitress for a very good meal . We both would Recommend this Hotel Restaurant to anyone who is looking for a very good Sunday Lunch in pleasant Atmosphere/ Sorroundings .

Three night stay for a new job . Hotel can offer no more . Clean and well serviced rooms, and friendly staff , offering good info about the local area , the breakfasts are second to none , don’t miss the eggs Benedict! Good car park and nice walks around the surrounding gardens.

Lovely hotel, spacious and clean. But what really made it was the staff, who were kind and generous. We stayed in the wheelchair accessible Hougemont Lodge. Breakfasts had a wide selection of cooked options and buffet breakfasts.Overall made our experience very easy.

Had lunch here today ham chips egg peas.. wouldn't eat here again, both our meals disappointing, hard oven chips , peas were not cooked.. nice ham but had been warmed! 🤢my friends egg wasn't cooked, it was runny . Had last eaten here a few years ago , lunch was lovely but not good enough for the price .
