We really really recommend this hotel! Starting from when we first checked in, the receptionist was very helpful and guided us throughout our stay using WeChat app as we could not speak Chinese.
The hotel room was clean and spacious, smells good, warm for the winter and the toilet also have a warmer which was very convenient. We slept soundly the whole 3 days we were there. It was only a 10-min walk from the Dali Ancient City and nearby a street food market.
Simple breakfast was provided. Porridge, eggs, buns, sweet potatoes and soy milk.
The decorations in the middle of the hotel was pretty lovely.
The receptionist helped us rent an EV bike for 40yuan/100km. You definitely must rent a bike to go around Dali. Just ask the receptionist and she will help you.
At the end of our stay, we were gifted with a box of flower cakes and green teas. So thoughtful of them 😍 WILL DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN WHEN IN DALI.

A nice small hotel is beautifully designed and well equipped. Good location and services are very good, 10 minutes walk to Dali Ancient town South gate. The staff are great, lovely, friendly and helpful. Also, it serves a free shuttle car to Dali railway station.

The hotel is located in a very comfortable area to visit all the places in Dali. All of the staff are friendly and always smile.
Hot water, comfortable bed, free pickup from the train station (by staying 2 nights with them). All of the services provided and offered are lovely.
Don't miss the view from the rooftops of the hotel!!

Stayed 2 nights. The taxi I took couldn't find the location. Called hotel, a lady came out and look for us as we were just at the back lane. The hotel area is quiet but a short walk out are surrounded by many small shops & restaurants.
Location is within short walk to Dali Ancient city. The night is more happening with more push carts on the streets. We were so.... lucky to experience 2 times of black out in the area. Whole area is pitch dark for almost 3 hours. People having dinner in darkness. There is a nice restaurant (see my picture) few steps from hotel. I asked hotel to help us to do a reservation as we couldn't try it on our 1st night as it was full. Really nice.
The room is clean & new. Breakfast is simple local food. It's the same breakfast for my 2 nights stay. We had a very comfortable stay there. The staff even gave us a box of biscuit as an apology for the black out.

The hotel is not as convenient as I thought, through reading the reviews. The lady at the front desk is helpful. However the facilities in the room has can be improved. The shower is either too hot or too cold. It took a long time before the hot water is available and then it is extremely hot. You either get scalded or frozen. Pictures on the trip.com site is quite misleading.

Dali Shanhaiyunjian hotel is an excellent place to stay.
Quiet surroundings. Marvelous front-desk staff (young ladies) helping us to check-in. Admire their multi-tasking capabilities handling the various hotel roles from kitchen hand to concierge services. Staff are very helpful on all matters asked, excellent service without doubt. Dali Old City is a short walk from the hotel. Along the way there are many shops and restaurants to choose from for our breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room amenities are good, no complaints.
Spacious room and modern decor.

Communicated with hotel day before check in via trip.com contact hotel internet free call. Linked up hotel via wechat and hotel provided pick up at railway station. Service is very good. Room is very big, clean and comfortable Staff very helpful and courteous. Hotel suggested to take a shared ride to Lijiang which is more convenient as the hotel is 45mins away from Dali HSR. I cancelled HSR ticket and take the shared car which took me from point to point instead..Thanks to the boss and staff of hotel.
