Actually, I was on a project for a few days, and I needed a place to stay. Someone recommended this place. Next time, I'll sleep in my car as opposed to asking that ***** for a suggestion. Anyway, for $200 per night (Monday night) plus taxes and fees, you'd expect something above average in the bustling metropolis of Danville. This place disappointed on all levels. It starts with the rude front desk personnel-I stood (proud and brave to again borrow some Band lyrics) at the desk for several minutes before being acknowledged. The lady was engrossed in a Tik Tok video or some such. Then I was assailed because my credit card didn't go through. It was an ******* transaction, and the clerk eventually recognized it as such. But what really disappoints is the fact that you pay a premium price for these gross, poorly maintained rooms in these supposedly mid-level, business travel friendly chain hotels. You get taken to the cleaners on a regular basis. Some examples of the foundation of my distress; the bathroom door was so out of kilter that it slammed shut of its own volition. The bathroom fixtures were rusty and dirty. The carpet was frayed and dirty. The tile work should have been replaced a decade ago. There was a half inch gap between the entry door and the door jamb-I could see into the hallway without looking through the peep hole. The furniture was dinged and dented, etc etc, ad nauseum.
