I visited this hotel with a group of travelers from the 15th to the 18th of September 2024. Buses cannot reach the entrance of the hotel only cars and mini vans can so after a long day of touring we had to walk 5 mn to reach the hotel. Only one shuttle of 4 persons was available for 26 persons. At our arrival we were welcomed in very tiny room that could not fit all of us, so some travelers were waiting on the street... We didn't know that the hotel had a warm lobby in another bloc. The shuttles and the welcoming should be reconsidered differently. Guests took their rooms and were chocked discovering that all the rooms were not climatized (No AC) and not ventilated well. The caves have a particular smell, we know that but need ventilation. After our claim the staff provided all the rooms with fans, and it was better. Some rooms are underground, dark with a very small window and some of the guests were claustrophobic, so we had to require the possibility of changing some rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the management need to increase staff number during high season as to install a group of 26 persons it took us a lot of time with only 2 persons helping with the luggage's. Most of the rooms are accessible by stairs and it is very difficult for the guests to manage carrying their luggage's. Not all the rooms are the same and rooms in the main bloc of the main lobby and the restaurant are much better than the other annexes of the hill. All the rooms are nice and well decorated, but some are better lit rooms. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms well equipped and some even have Jacouzi's. Breakfast was good and the food in general well presented. Set menu dinners can definitely be improved as we had the same salad for two days and we were offered a pot of meat, too spicy for most of us. Spices should be always avoided for guests as they cannot be removed from the mixture but can be added to it if needed. The experience all in all was lovely but encourage the management to reconsider the welcoming process especially for groups ( at the main lobby maybe with a welcome refreshing drink), the organization of shuttles, the ventilation of the rooms.... To end with a positive note, I would like to salute and thank the staff of Dere suites hotel ( Fifi and the others) as they did their best to make our stay memorable.
