Waverley Inn Lodge

The most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. No key for door but I was offered a plastic wedge to keep door open when I go out.. Filthy bed sheets, terrible smell from bed. Dirty carpets, no hot water in evening, broken shower door, no towels and the ones that did arrive unclean. Tv wall bracket broken with tv up against wall covered in dust. The pics on the app are nothing like what it’s really like, worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and should be closed down.

After reading the reviews of this place we were quite skeptical of staying at this hotel but we was actually very pleasantly surprised for the value . The bed was comfortable, continental breakfast was included in our price which was great, the little on site bar was very friendly and the location was right on the high street. It was a little dirty in the shower and we didn't have a TV remote but other then that we were happy and what more can you want for £30 a night including breakfast.

Never been anywhere worse. Firstly upon arrival we were greeted by being told there was something wrong with our room (supposed to be 3 of us together) meaning we got slit up, then boiler ‘had just blown up’ so the whole place was freezing. So we got given 1 tiny electric heater for 2 rooms!! When we got to our room where the mould had been painted over and there was loads of cracks all over the walls. The room had clearly not been cleaned prior to us coming as I found dried snot in my covers and other dirty bits. This made me take off the sheets and sleep with my hoody as a duvet. The kettle never even worked so we had to use the other rooms kettle, when making a cup of tea (using our own cups!) we found open and used coffee sachets. The place was overall disgusting, unsanitary and we had a horrible night.

What a shame for such a beautiful town to have such a disgusting guest house. It is situated in the same floor as a pool room. Our twin room had a unwashed cup and a dirty towel hanging on the radiator. When I spoke to the receptionist he just told me we wouldn't be charged for the towel. No apology or anything. Afterwards I was disappointed to find the 'free breakfast' has no fried option. What was worse though was one of the bun was mouldy. Rather than complain and ask for any refund we just simply left and ensure the rest of our day wouldn't get ruined. Again was a shame for such a beautiful town and people.

* please take the time to look at the pics I have posted* This hotel is an absolute DUMP! I booked x2 nights double room with en-suite and breakfast. Upon arrival I was handed the keys to a room that had not been cleaned from the previous travellers. The room was absolutely STINKING, the bins not changed, bed not changed, shower full of hairs and the door wouldn’t lock. The man at reception came with a bottle of bleach, a sponge and an air fresher and said I could keep this for the night and he would give me another the following evening. SERIOUSLY!!!! I obviously refused this, I asked him if he was blind! There was absolutely no way I would sleep in the room! It was disgusting and there’s no way I could have slept there with the door unlocked!!!! He then gave me keys to another room upstairs …. This room was also a dump but didn’t smell as bad. There was no other accomodation in dingwall, believe me, I searched every site! Through gritted teeth I accepted the 2nd room and then dashed to tesco for cleaning materials, I disinfected the room. The room was like a jail cell, there was no toilet nor shower. There was a sink but it did not work. The following day I was promised they would try to get me into their other hotel which was to be nicer but that didn’t happen. That’s when they offered me the 3rd room……… Holy moley it was an absolute dream destroyer! It smelled like someone had smoked 200 cigarettes in it, it had dampness and I’m not convinced the bed sheets where clean. Having already disinfected the room i had I decided to stay there. As stated before,this room I had was a single room with no toilet or shower facilities, not what I paid for. The communal toilet was bogging it didn’t even have soap and the shower was a total grot fest. The shower was freezing and the water was trickling. My room had no bin, no mugs etc for tea (not that I’d have used it) so sorry I didn’t pack my shark Hoover becoz there was toenails everywhere…. And they weren’t mine! The sheets were all ripped and the mattress was Manky! I slept with a broken beside cabinet up against the door. I was terrified in this place. This place is NOT. Safe. There was a pool hall/pub in the same building. The music blared till after midnight, there’s no security, anyone can wander off the street or from the pub and lurk around this dump. Obviously I didn’t take them up on the offer of breakfast, the place was Manky! The halls leading to the rooms had empty beer cans / soft drinks / toilet roll/ empty pizza boxes just scattered about, I actually watched the receptionist jump over them rather than pick up! It was still there 2 days later wen I left! I was absolutely ASTOUNDED to see a cleaner on Thursday morning…… I don’t know what she was cleaning but it certainly was not this building! Avoid this place at all costs, it’s dirty, unsafe and the worst mistake of my life! I asked for a full refund, they said to contact the company I booked though. How unhelpful is that ? Window in m

The place was dirty. Uninviting. Unfriendly. Room was very basic and had not been cleaned. Shower door did not close. Room had not been vacumed. Popcorn under bed and on floor. Curtains hanging off rails. No reception. Complained. No one interested

Booked this place for three nights! We did not stay - actually we didn’t even check-in, it was that bad! Exterior was dingy & dirty. It’s overhead a pool hall, absolutely awful! We ran, contacted the third party we booked through & got a refund.

This is also known as national hotel. The rooms are above the 147 pool hall. Continental breakfast is served in the national which is across the road. My first room was on the top floor which was a hell of a climb.(Over 100 steps easily). There was only half a curtain loosely hanging up and the bed was a box of old springs. The shower didn't work but apparently there was an issue with the boiler and it was fixed the next day. It was very difficult to retain a steady temperature though. Either scalding hot or freezing cold. My second room(pictured) was in an area of the hotel currently being renovated. Bed was very comfortable but once again the shower was useless. I only dealt with one staff member who was very polite and helpful. Can't remember his name but he was tall and thin.
