Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dover

This was the nicest hotel we have stayed in while in Dover, DE. Parking seemed to fill up quickly in the evening, limited spaces.

Clean, underground parking, breakfast is oatmeal packs bagels and fruit. Very limited continental options. Easy check in and out. Looks like they’re in the middle of upgrading the property. Simple stay. Quiet stay. I would stay again if the price was decent.

We had little choice to stay here because of a kids sporting event. The place smelled chemically, the decor, lighting and atmosphere felt like we were about to be the subjects of an NBC Dateline or 48 Hours show. They should be ashamed of the price gauging they do. Stay at the other places down the road- they are still overpriced, but you won't feel overcome by the sterile chemical smell and terrible cheap LED lighting everywhere.

This was my first stay at a Microtel Hotel. The hotel was recently renovated and everything appeared new and clean. The room was clean and comfortable for my overnight stay. Overall the room decor was "different" but had a work desk, fridge, microwave, room safe, clothes steamer, and hairdryer. Loved the window seat. Breakfast was continental, with pastries, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. 15-20 minutes to DE Turf.

Knocking you up at 10:30am for an 11 o'clock check out and we were given the ok to check out at 12noon since we got there 11:30pm the night before for a one day stay. Knock 4 times or more then my husband got upset and then suddenly they could confirm we were allowed a 12noon check out. Don't stop here with kids, as they will rush you out of the room even if it's not your time. That's my awful experience..

The fridge, TV, side lights & power sockets didn't work in our work (maybe a fuse had blown?). Staff were standoffish & not especially friendly. Otherwise it's a standard hotel and does the job. But disappointing.

One of the most horrible experiences in the numerous hotels I have stayed in over 3 decades. There weren't enough parking spaces, and the underground garage has a clearance of 6'8", which doesn't allow for a mid-size SUV with roof racks. The check-in process was annoyingly tedious and unnecessarily long, with the person asking me to spell my name and address, but THEN asking for my ID anyway, when she could have easily asked for my ID and entered info from there. She also kept interrupting my check-in process by taking phone calls - at least 3 times. The next day I needed to use the bathroom on the first floor, but it was locked. So I went to the front desk and waited in front of the person, not wanting to interrupt her because she was writing in a notebook, but she certainly knew I was there because I was only about 2 feet away. She ignored me for about 2 full minutes until she accidentally lifted her head and made eye contact with me. She then greeted me with an annoyed, quizzical look, as if it was beneath her to ask what I wanted. I asked her if the bathroom was occupied or just locked, and she told me it was locked. She then continued to stare at me like the unhelpful person she was instead of asking the logical follow-up of whether I needed to unlock it to use it. In summary, the property is outdated, small and uncomfortable; paired with staff who seem to go out of their way to be unhelpful. I couldn't wait to check out.

I was recently down the DOver area for a lacrosse tournament. The place is 15-20 Mins away from DE Turf and the price was fantastic. I would love ot stay here every time i am down here

The hotel--recently renovated--is very basic and priced appropriately. However, it has all you need (provided they add an anti-slip mat for the tub and the promised in-room coffeemaker). We'd happily stay here again.
