Hotel Dumaguete

I really wanted to love this hotel. It has so much potential. However,  the constant barking during the night from dogs on the adjacent property is overwhelming. Poor quality windows make it seem like the dogs are barking in your room. If you value your sleep, stay somewhere else.

We recently stayed at Hotel Dumaguete for four nights in November 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The location is fantastic – close to the airport, local attractions, and many establishments, making it convenient for exploring the city. The price point is very reasonable, especially if booked ahead. Our room was well-kept, comfortable, and pleasantly scented with a lovely diffuser fragrance. The beds and pillows were cozy, the air conditioning was perfect, and there was plenty of storage space. An added touch was the included airport transfer, with the staff coordinating everything smoothly in advance. We also appreciated the complimentary city transport on their van or tuk-tuk (subject to availability), which made getting around effortless. The only minor downside was the water quality. It seemed to be deep well water, with a slightly rusty or earthy smell and sometimes a brownish tint. Though this was not a major issue, we chose to avoid it for brushing our teeth. The breakfast was a delight, with carefully chosen and well-presented options each morning that made each meal enjoyable. The swimming pool was also beautiful, adding to the hotel’s charm and ambiance. The staff were outstanding – polite, friendly, and always attentive. They truly went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Overall, Hotel Dumaguete is a wonderful choice, offering excellent value, thoughtful amenities, and warm, attentive service in a great location.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Dumaguete. From the moment I arrived, I felt relaxed, refreshed, and truly well taken care of by the entire staff. Special thanks to Krishna, the receptionist Clarisse, the drivers, the pool attendant, security guards, waiters, and housekeepers—all of whom were exceptionally friendly and professional. The hotel's facilities were excellent—well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. I especially enjoyed spending time in their café and the restaurants next to the hotel, which offered a cozy ambiance and delicious food. Overall, my experience was exceptional, and I will definitely be returning!

Hi All, This is my 3rd or 4th stay in Hotel Dumaguete. While the service/professionalism of the staff is still very good, I highly recommend the bathrooms undergo routine repairs/maintenance. Based upon photos, the bathroom fixtures are starting to rust. It will be unfortunate and a waste if the owners and/or management doesn’t keep up with maintenance when needed. Also, I suggest all alcoholic/none alcoholic beverages be available (have duplicate bottles) in all areas of the hotel where drinks are served to avoid staff having to run to the pool area and back to the bar area as time is being wasted.

LOVE this hotel! #1 they didn’t cut corners building it or outfitting it and it just feels great when you get to your hotel and everything works (has not been the case with so many of the places we’ve stayed around the country) #2 there are thoughtful extra touches that I adored (reed diffuser in rooms, purse stools in deli, good sound system and music, Netflix on TV), #3 staff was very professional, approachable and helpful. #4 the pool is glorious and every time I went down to swim I had it to myself #5 the hidden restaurant, cafe and bar behind the hotel was one of my favorite spots to chill in the City. Stayed here a week. Found it very relaxing for its proximity to city. Highly recommend.
