Lovely, cute, quaint! Very different to anywhere I've stayed before. The bed, pillows & quilt were so soft & comfortable. The shower was nice & powerful. The staff were so lovely & and the breakfast was plentiful & very tasty. Couldn't have asked for more.

The best beef wellington i’ve ever had, exceptional service with a first class feel. I recently dined at the old railway station in the waiting room and I am eager to go back to dine in the new carriage Princess Ena - such a special experience to have and a wonderful place to stay and eat!

Took an over 60s social club for afternoon tea. 21 of us were treated to a delightful, sumptuous tea in a beautiful room, used to be the station waiting room, where a roaring log fire created a cozy atmosphere on a bitterly cold day. Staff were lovely and we all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.

We’d seen the Old Railway Station had now opened its Pullman Railway Carriage for dinning so we decided to go for dinner. The food was amazing, service attentive and we would highly recommend. The Pullman Carriage has been renovated to a high standard and is a beautiful place for dinner especially as the chairs are so comfortable. The food was delicious so definitely go and try it out.

Paid a visit to the old railway station for afternoon tea and was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The tea room is the old station waiting room and the whole experience was like walking back in time. Delicious mixture of sandwiches, hot savoury,scones and deserts served on old bone china . This was a no rush experience and once served you were left alone to enjoy.

We had a very relaxing 2 day mini-break at The Old Railway Station. Our Pullman carriage was fully equipped with large, very comfy bed, excellent window shutters and all mod cons. There was even a cafetiere with decent coffee, not just sachets of nescafe. Bathroom was small and modern with plenty of hot water and a shower over the bath. The period detailing was delightful with lovely paintwork, coffered ceilings and original lights. Breakfast and dinners served in the refurbished waiting room were good too. A refurbished restaurant car will be open soon we were told. The staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn't fault the service. There are inevitable steps so sadly not suitable for everybody.

We have been to the Old Railway station many times this year even, and it is always a 5 star experience with quirky rooms, friendly staff and a great breakfast. Tonight was the first time we have had dinner here, in the converted ticket office while the dining car is being renovated. Wow! The meal we had tonight was one of the best restaurant meals we have ever had. Absolutely everything was cooked to perfection. The Chef has a great touch, food is cooked and seasoned perfectly and the menu is really interesting and varied, with familiar flavours being presented in new and innovative ways. At £39.50 for an outstanding 3 course meal, this is fine dining without the high price tag. Wine is a really reasonable £19.50. Absolutely can not recommend eating here enough, you will not be disappointed if you choose to have dinner here. The beautiful dining room with its high ceilings, 1940s music and candlelight creates a wonderful ambience for a special meal. We can’t wait to come back - if you are in two minds about having a meal in the restaurant here do yourself a favour and book!

Had the best afternoon tea with my girlfriend and my nan it was faultless. Unlimited coffee or tea and each cake made with tlc and finesse Believe the cakes made by chef dani Look forward to re visiting for evening meals when the carriage is open 🥮

We stayed in the restored classic Pullman train carriages, each converted into 2 en-suite bedrooms. These are fitted out with a good sized double bed. The original paneling and decor has been retained and the room was decorated with period artifacts which gave an authentic character to the whole experience. The carriages stand along the platform next to the station building, where a satisfying breakfast is served in the old waiting room! We had a fabulous dinner her too which was of exceptional quality, created by Chef Jacob and delivered with style by his partner Grace and the team. We can't wait to return to dine here again - perhaps in the dining car when its restoration is complete!
