We arrived at 7 and it was just beautiful, stunning view and a large old fashioned cottage feel. We were shown to a sunny bright room with a stunning view of Loch Eck. Our starters took a while to come and were nice. We had 3 tempura chickens which were great. I had the Bon Bon’s which were delicious. Strangely we had full spring onions in the garnish, one not washed properly and had soil in it. The waitresses were really nice although were run off their feet; never got chance to ask how our meal was until they were taking plates away and our drinks ran dry. Our main courses were edible. Lasagne was ok, coconut chicken made with pre formed bits of frozen chicken and bit “tasteless”. Other curry was tasty but very little chicken. So at end of the meal no one has approached my friend yet about her booking for that night to discuss her wedding with the owner. My friend introduced herself and the owner said ok we can talk once it’s quieter, can you wait but didn’t confirm when and suggested we come back tomorrow morning at 10am! So all the way up from wales, pre booked, sitting for hours, getting late. We discussed it and felt very dejected ( not what you want for a wedding venue) so we decided to pay and leave. Owner saw us stand up and pay at bar and said nothing. My friend then asks to speak to owner and is bluntly told sorry she was really busy. She acknowledged my friend was “cross” and offered half heartedly “tell me what I can do to resolve this”. Nothing. Poor service.
