Elounda Heights (Adults Only)

I stayed at Elounda Heights meeting a couple of friends who have returned there for many years. That probably speaks for itself! The hotel is small, welcoming and beautifully situated for views of the bay below. This also means that the access is by steep, but paved roads, and directions given are clear and explicit. The room was compact but had everything I needed - terrace, bathroom that didn't feel too small, and a kitchenette that was clean and unobtrusive. Also sofa & TV. Wifi was good enough for streaming, and plenty of point for charging including 2 USB A sockets. Best of all is the cuisine with daily specials from Vasilis, who made me an excellent vegetarian dish that was simply what I wanted. Even the Greek salad from the pool bar was perfect. Thanks to all at the hotel for a perfect 'minibreak'.

This is a wonderful hotel, fantastic views over the bay of Elounda with Spinalonga Island in the distance. On this visit we stayed in a studio apartment. We had our own patio area with seating and sun beds to relax on and look at the beautiful views. The air conditioned studio was traditionally furnished and our bed very comfortable. The staff at Elounda Heights are brilliant, always smiling and helpful. We particularly loved the evening meal specials served in the outdoor covered restaurant, all evening meals were expertly prepared by Vangelis and his team, worth a Michelin star in our opinion. For the perfect wine accompaniment Kostas was on hand to advertise from the excellent wine list. The pool area has its own pool bar, meals and drinks prepared by Clio who is brilliant. There are enough sun beds around the pool for all guests, no need to get to the pool early to reserve your spot. There is so much to see and do around the Elounda area, lovely villages, sandy beeches and drives into the mountains. We loved it so much we have booked for 2025.

A very special place, after going here for over twenty years, we are still in awe of the view every time. Yes, it's at the top of a rather steep hill but that's how you get the view that not many other hotels in the area can match. The owners and staff all go out of their way to give you the best experience you can have catering for dietary needs and information to assist you with regards travel in the local area and further afield.

We arrived at the Heights in early July for a 14 night stay, staying in our favourite studio Apollo. We have stayed here many times before since our first visit in 2009. This year we had spent the previous week in the Chania area, so after checking in, having a snack and a cold drink, we took advantage of the facilities and washed a week’s worth of our clothes. Over the years we have seen many changes and improvements. This year one of them was the installation of a chilled and filtered water dispenser located next to the pool bar. So, no more plastic bottles of water at the pool or in your fridge in your room. Around the pool you can either fill your own refillable bottle or ask for a reusable plastic drinking glass. In your room you now have a glass bottle which you can refill or exchange at the pool bar. As we had prebooked breakfast, the day starts with having to make decisions. When you arrive at the pool bar for breakfast you will see the specials board. The first decision to consider is shall we eat in or out tonight? Then, if it’s in, will it be the special or the à la carte? No rush with these answers as you have until about 4 p.m. to order a special. Breakfast starts with a selection of small freshly made savouries and cakes. Together with these is a basket of various breads and a selection of home made jams. Your next decision is what to order from the main breakfast menu. A huge choice to eat and drink all cooked to order. On our pool days there was another change this year. The heavy wooden framed pool beds have been changed for lightweight ones making them easier to move, all equipped with a comfortable mattress and, as previously mentioned, free chilled water. If you skipped breakfast there is an excellent snack menu at the pool bar with plenty of choice and cooked to order. The end of the afternoon has a happy hour (actually 2 hours) where the price of popular cocktails is reduced. If we have chosen to eat in for the evening meal we usually go to the bar to chat to the other guests first and, when you are ready, you cross the driveway to the restaurant. Our studio was on the ground floor and has a terrace where you can sit or use the sunbeds. The room is quite large with a very comfortable bed, sitting area, TV and small kitchen area that has a fridge, kettle and toaster etc. The bathroom is well equipped with shower gel and other bathroom products. The studio also has a large electronic safe, air conditioning, a hairdryer and an iron. The studio was kept spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The WiFi was good across the whole site. The evening specials are cooked by Vangelis who does fantastic food. If you have any special dietary requirements just let him know and Vangelis will cater for you. Once a week they have a pianist playing in the dining area and, on another evening, there is wine-tasting where every wine is paired with dishes of food. All we can say is wow! This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. No wonder people come back every year! The hotel is sat at the top of a very steep hill so as you can imagine the views are just incredible. You can walk down the hill in about 10 mins to the town where there are a ton of great restaurants, shops, and beaches. We also 100% recommend taking the boat trip that was recommended by the front desk staff. The rooms are beautifully decorated and modern, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The view from our balcony was absolutely stunning and the views all around the hotel honestly are amazing. I don’t think there is a bad view from any of the rooms. There is actually a small gym too which we were pleasantly surprised about. Breakfast every morning was amazing as they bring you fresh baked pastries and bread and you can also order off the main menu. The pool bar drinks were great and the food was excellent. We also highly recommend eating at the restaurant for dinner. It was truly superb and you can tell how much attention to detail they put into the food. One of the best things about this hotel was the staff. Everyone was so lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you Elounda Heights for the absolute best stay. We can’t wait to come back again!

An amazing place to visit, it’s run by a charming family in a beautiful location with fabulous views. Attentive, friendly professional staff, nothing is too much trouble. They make your stay special. This is my 5th visit and I’ve recommended it to a few people who have all said it exceeded their expectations. They produce a breakfast to look forward to with homemade savoury and sweet authentic Greek pastries & cakes on the table before you choose off the menu. There is a lovely al a cart restaurant in a beautiful setting with local and home grown produce and daily specials that you won’t find in the harbour restaurants. People have been coming back year after year , it’s a little slice of heaven.

Just home after a week’s stay in the most idyllic, relaxing and accommodating place that my mum and I have ever stayed. As you walk in, your breath is taken away by the most beautiful view, a full panoramic view of the bay, which we basically just stared at from our sun lounger and balcony for the entire week. Having been looked after from the moment of booking, to the moment of getting home, we felt completely cared for the whole time, with everything already thought out to ensure the easiest of stays, with our airport taxi transfers booked for us, as well as a local boat trip booked for us. We were thoroughly looked after by the incredibly friendly and attentive staff, who felt like our friends by the end of our stay. Everywhere was immaculate, with our room incredibly clean and refreshed each day, to the pool being the cleanest and most cared for pool I have ever seen. One of our highlights was the amazing food: breakfast, which included daily changing freshly made pastries and cakes, as well as a breakfast menu, a pool bar which served lovely home cooked food until 7pm daily and a restaurant serving specials cooked every evening from locally sourced ingredients. Every area of Crete is beautiful however the agio Nikolaos/elounda area is so different and picturesque. Staying at elounda heights lets you take that beauty all in while sitting by the pool or from your own private balcony. Our room was large, nice Greek island decor and well equipped with a kitchenette. Bathroom was large as well and renovated with all the amenities. The grounds are so well groomed and all the various areas of the hotel were very clean. We did not get a chance to eat at the hotel restaurant as we ate dinner at the towns nearby but the menu always sounded delicious & reasonably priced. We did partake in a wine tasting session one evening which was offered by the owner. It was informative and alot of fun. Breakfast by the pool was so relaxing, delicious and well done. Thank you Ritsa for your recommendations and to Dimitra for being so attentive. What was also nice is that the owners, Kosta and Natalia are always around to talk with guests and work side by side with their staff when needed. It feels like a great place to work at. We spent 3 relaxing, quiet days/nights here and loved the adults only concept. We did use our car to come and go to and from the hotel but the view and privacy up the hill was well worth it. Elounda heights may be a 2* hotel but with a 5* atmosphere! The staff are utterly wonderful they work tirelessly but can't do enough to help you! Ritsa was so helpful guiding us to our hotel, around the island giving us recommendations she is such a genuine soul and ao kind. The breakfast staff were so knowledgeable and so kind freshycooked breakfast every morning - I really recommend the greek scrambled egg! I have never ever wanted to return to a place I have been but Elounda Heights may be an exception! Catarina also makes a delicious cocktail and is so very kind! I feel like part of the Elounda Family ♡
