GOOD - The pool. Except we got chucked out within a minute for not wearing a swim cap. We didn't know. If you were Italian the lifeguard kept you in the pool and bought you swim caps to buy from the bar. BAD - The food. How you can make Italian food tasteless and inedible is beyond imagination, but they managed it on a daily basis. One meal arrived, a souffle with cheese sauce, with a side of carrots and hot pickled onions. I kid you not. On arrival they sat us furthest away from the outside and sunset views, near the kitchens and the banging doors. We didn't realise that this table would be our table for the rest of our holiday. UGLY - Staff - very rude when finding out you're English. We were very smiley and friendly to them, trying to use as much as Italian as we knew but it was beyond hope. One example was the restaurant staff barging into my 79 year old Mum, and not even turning round to apologise. This happened more than once. I have never cried on holiday before, but cried twice here. The hotel really is full of Italian holiday makers and they couldn't be ruder either. One example being dragging our sun lounger for their family, whilst we were sitting under it! Other occasions they would swim over to you in the large pool and sit touching you until you moved. On more than one occasion. Beggars belief. We ordered 2 drinks from the pool bar, and that is what we got, the Italian guests received complimentary nuts and crisps too. I have been to Rome, Lake Garda, Venice, Sicily, Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Sardinia and have always been in love with Italy, its people and culture. Ischia managed to destroy that in 10 days. You couldn't pay me to return. Would they want me? No, I am English.
