Comfort Inn & Suites Fultondale Gardendale I-65

The staff was very friendly and efficient. The hotel was clean and in a good location. The room was comfortable and the rate was very competitive for the area. The hotel suffers from some deferred maintenance but it is a good place to stay for one night when you're passing through.

While I didn’t see any bugs, the bathroom Had drops of something on the counter and floor. The floor in the entrance had little pieces of something; it obviously had not been swept. While I didn’t notice anything else, it was hard to trust that it was clean.

I called for a reservation at Comfort suites in Fultondale Alabama because we were members. The representative said they were booked and he offered a reservation at Laquinta. He said he found the best price. He didn't realize I was already there. He quoted $226. The lady at the front desk had a better rate $156. I was standing there so I canceled he said the cancelation had to go through another department.even though the reservation was not done! He then connected to someone that hung up in my face. My card was charged 2x. One room cost me $ 400. These people are a scam! Do not give them your credit card number! I repeat Don't do it! I will never call Comfort Suites or Choice hotels again! Disappointed ex members.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I checked in began smelling the odor of ********* in the hallway. I informed the manager of the odor and directed him to a couple of rooms it appeared to be coming from. Instead of addressing the issue, he sprayed air freshener to mask the scent. Later that evening I awoke and smelled the odor of ********* coming into my room through the vents. My wife and child were in the room and had to breathe the ********* odor the remainder of the evening. The following morning, before checking out, I reported the issues to the front desk staff who told me they could not do anything and that I would have to call back a couple days later when the manager was working. I called back and the manager began telling me he never smelled any odor of ********* when I pointed it out. The fact that he sprayed air freshener seems to contradict that claim. I asked him if he was claiming I was lying. He refused to provide a full room refund stating I did not address the issue before I checked out and completed my stay. I actually did address the issue before I checked out but was told to call back in a couple days. Breakfast was the worst I have ever had. Coffee was rancid and smelled awful. Only thing I could eat was a waffle and banana. Everything else was awful. I will never stay at a Comfort Inn and Suites again.

Room was ok. At 2am a car at BoJangles (next to the hotel) had their card door open and music blaring. We could hear from inside our room. We called the front desk, no answer. We then walked to front desk and they said they couldn't call the cops since it wasn't on their property. So we called the police, they drove by and the person turned down the music. Sad that the employee was of no help.

The wife and I booked 2 nights, at check-in, I was greeted by a very charming and helpful young lady. I was given a key and told my room number. My wife finished parking and we went to the roo. The room looked clean The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable enough. The shower was odd to me; it was narrow and there was no lip or wall to stop water from going into the middle of the bathroom. We had to ask twice for towels, the AC was making a lot of noise, and I found a key on the floor at the end of the bed. Maintenance came by and quieted the AC down while we were out. The coffee service was not refilled. These were mino inconveniences and I choose to overlook them as the staff did try to make our stay pleasente.

Where do we start? Booked a King Bed Executive Room for October 2-5. Showed up to check in, they had the room already reserved for me, Room 211. I go upstairs and hear a little noise from the vicinity of the room. I unlock the door and see people in there! Not great. I go down to the front desk and tell them about it. Apparently, the people in that room had chosen to stay over and it wasn't put into the computer? They end up giving me a new room, Room 116. The room location isn't great since it's right next to the sidewalk in front of the building. I kept the blackout curtain down the whole time I was there. I get in there and the room is rather dusty all over and there's no TP in the bathroom, only tissues. I guess they weren't expecting to let this room out any time soon. They do have housekeeping, but they only clean rooms every 3 days if you have a longer stay. For short stays, they don't clean at all until after you check out. Also, someone absconded with the remote control, which meant that you couldn't turn the TV on. The woman working at the front desk got me a remote from (I think) one of the other rooms, but it still didn't turn on the TV. Had to buy a universal remote at Walmart in Gardendale and program that to turn on the TV (it is the hotel's to keep). The remote that I received was able to work the Dish Network receiver that is mounted to the wall behind the mini fridge. Speaking of the mini fridge, it froze two specific bottles of water solid, but none of the others around it. Weird. Probably the best part about the room was the bed itself. It was comfortable, but most of the rest of this experience was crazy. I've stayed in a fair number of hotels and this was a new and quite unsatisfactory experience. I likely would not stay here again if I return to the Birmingham area.

Our sheets and comforter were stained and filthy. We notified the front desk and they gave us clean sheets. We made up our own beds. We also found dirt at the bottom of the bed between the sheets. The front panel of the bathroom cabinet was not attached, and fell off and chopped my toenail off. I told the front desk I needed my room comped and they agreed. Also the front desk told me to go to the urgent care and they would pay any fees. Seemed reasonable. Now 4 months later and many phone calls and emails to the manager, they still refuse to pay the $22 deductible for my bill. I am paying it myself today. I am tired of being ignored. It is sad that this manager/owner refuses to do the right thing. Even Choice Hotels corporate offices were no help because they say each hotel is responsible independently.

Booked a 2 queen room. Upon trying to check in at 12am was advised they had no clean queen rooms. There were 4 of us so one king room was not a suitable exchange. Was then advised someone would be in to clean the room within 30 minutes. Needless to say after an hour and a half and still waiting on someone to clean the room we decided to continue on our journey south.
