Enjoyed my stay at the Victoria hotel,sure I may be back as prices were reasonable and nice bed too

Nice and warm welcome, explained how the hotel works and answered my questions clearly and with courtesy, allowed to leave baggage before the room was available but make sure to have no valuables in it as they don't have a storage room. It truly is an old (or more together) house so the layout can be a bit confusing, my floor didn't even have a bathroom. Location isn't good nor bad, one block away from a major street with good food options, quiet neighborhood although next to what appeared to be a homeless shelter and some street blocks were closed due to maintenance and whatnot and the short climb from the aforementioned major street is steep and challenging in the rain/snow. No problems with cleanliness or room temperature during rainy season, or as they call it Scotland 11 months a year. Standard room is sparse and I didn't see much value in the extras, I think it's overpriced in general for what it is and I'd say there's at least 3 other better hotels in Glasgow for single travelers but if when you're visiting they're busy this could be the better option.

I have stayed here many times. Cheap (usually) and cheerful. Beds are always clean and comfy. Never had any major issues. Close to city centre, parking available. A good budget hotel. Some aspects looking a bit tired and in need of tlc My only gripe is the pricing structure ... Sometimes it is less than £40 other times it is more than £70 depending on what is going on in the city at the time I presume. My happy 'go to' in Glasgow

At not much under £100 per night with no meals included, I found this hotel vastly overpriced. Great location, clean bed linen and towels. However, my room had old carpets with stains in, the room was in desperate need of decorating, the shower is tiny, I found stale food under the bed and you could hear toilets flushing in adjacent rooms. Doubt I’ll be going back there.

Great location and friendly staff but lots of problems with our room and amenities. Broken window in room (the window wouldn’t close, so had to leave it open all night) Beds aren’t stuck to floor properly so they move during the night and you can end up slipping down onto the floor when it moves to far away from the wall. Shower is like a coffin and built for shorter people because the shower head was so slow I kept hitting my chin of it and had to bend down to get my head under which was like doing gymnastics when your in a tiny shower cubicle, bathroom gets absolutely flooded when you use said shower also and the showers look to have not updated equipment since 1980. Breakfast was nice the one day we were able to eat it but on the descriptions it says breakfast is at 7:30 but apparently on weekends it’s at 8 and unfortunately we had a bus tour at 7:45 on the Saturday so we couldn’t make breakfast and they couldn’t refund us for the breakfast we paid for but that wasn’t being cooked on the time we thought. So if your paying for breakfast make sure you’ve looked your plans or schedule.

First impression in room alright for a night as was only staying to enable me to visit someone. Dropped my bag of in room. Noticed sash and case window open on arrival in rooom. Didnt try to close it was up a flight of stairs and was hot outside Arrived at 4.30 pm. Didnt get back until 23.30pm. Hadnt been drinking was visiting. Picked up key from man in reception as your supposed to leave key. Coming back the same person at reception gave me the key back. Up to room. Went to lock my door from the inside as I was a lone female and you simply cant lock, chained secure from inside. Door only opens with the key. Before bed went to close sash and case window and a small metal bar is physically bent to hold the window open. I simply couldnt shut it. Other side of the window is a flat roof!. In the morning I told the girl at reception that window wouldnt shut. I hardly slept due to how wide the window was! I've added a picture. Reply was you should have told us and we would have changed rooms or handy man would have fixed. Past midnight and in my Pj's I dont think so. Bending that metal would have been a lot if noise. Bedroom was ok. Ensuite was ok too. Pros: Okay to sleep for the night. If you get the window to shut. Cons: Take a door wedge.

so pleased to have found this little spot. amazing value for money. breakfast lovely and so cheap. staff incredibly friendly and helpful. room large and spotlessly clean. decor was a bit dated and carpet not great, but they are clearly working through the building and updating. I would definitely accept these small problems in exchange for all the positives. Will be back. xxx

We stayed for three nights. The staff was really nice and we had a great experience. It is well-located, and there is a lot to visit nearby. Our only disapointment was the continental breakfast. We would have loved to see more fresh products like croissants from a bakery for example.

I have to say, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I had high expectations before I moved in, but was really disappointed. Pictures do not match reality. The room facilities are really old and the hygiene is terrible. The TV remote is dusty and sticky and the battery is bad. What confuses me is that I booked a room with a private toilet and I can provide the receipt. I don't know why the staff give me a room with a shared bathroom. When I went back to the hotel on the first night to ask a male staff member, he was not very attentive to help me solve this confusion. And firmly said that the system showed that I booked a shared bathroom room. I had no choice but to go back to the room, but the heating in the room was broken. I was so cold that I couldn't sleep and asked the staff again, they came to check and gave me a new room. The room doesn't seem to provide any cleaning supplies and can only be purchased from the vending machines in the restaurant. The room I booked did not include breakfast and the staff said a breakfast was £8. But whenever I pass by the restaurant in the morning and smell the heavy and poor quality fumes, I lose my appetite. Apart from the above disadvantages, its location is very good. Near the city center, there are supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Also very close to the train station. The other staff are also very friendly. Probably only the location deserves the price.
