So, you are traveling and book a hotel while on the road, using the company's website, right? Let's say the rate was $100/night and your confirmation says it'll be $150 and you think you pay online. You get to the hotel, and they want $200. So you ask. Reception responds "taxes" and you reply that your confirmation says $150. So they respond "deposit" and it will go away. Ok. So you get home and try to review the charges on website....no reservation exists. So, you call hotel to provide you one. The total charges are now $160! Why the difference? Parking fee plus taxes on parking fee. Ridiculous! The lot is dimly lit, it was never mentioned, no info about a car was asked, it's not like they have valet or covered parking and...its not downtown. So, what's the deal? Compared to everywhere we visited while in town (and to add we have lived here and visit often) our experience was definitely lacking hospitality, and I will go out a limb to say overall bad business. We are rewards members, and the stay is still not showing on our Hilton account. Just makes you wonder. Besides that, I'll add that the rooms facing the highway are terrible, breakfast is $16, and there is absolutely no small touches to make you feel welcome.
