Hampton Inn Harrisonburg-South

The deadbolt on our door didn't work. Neither did the mirror light in the bathroom. Those were little things. The AC was loud, and the pillows clearly needed replacing. Speaking of replacing, a 32-inch, 480p TV in a room? As for desk service, not the most amicable or welcoming crew at check-in or checkout.

I'm sorry to say this stay was not up to the Hampton standard. The first room assigned did not have a TV, and the second did not have a hair dryer. The deadbolt was questionable. I will say the desk clerk did resolve the hair dryer issue but what a random thing to deal with after a long day of driving. I spoke with the manger the next morning. They are trying to deal with all the issues but evidently not quickly enough. Other guests had complaints as well. Hope they do better soon.

This place is busy. They had someone from another location helping when we checked in. The pool area is nice, but the water was too cold. We stopped early for the evening to be able to enjoy the pool, but that didn't happen because of the temperature. There were at least three people helping with breakfast. They noticed a pileup so they added another wafflemaker to help. Many hot items were available as was a to-go bag.

I'm a bit ambivalent on this review. The room was clean. The gentleman at the front desk when we checked in left a lot to be desired. I'm not going to say more on an open review. The woman at the front desk on days 2 and 3 was very nice. The pool on the first night wasn't heated. It was 8 degrees outside and the pool was probably in the low 40s for temp. There is no way a human being could enter a pool that cold for any period of time. I tried to complain to the gentlement working the front desk, but that went nowhere. The second night the pool was heated, cold, but at least heated. Probably low 60s. I can swim in that. The breakfast was probably the worst Hampton breakfast I have ever experienced, period, at any Hampton property I have stayed at. All in all, the room was clean and I guess that's what really counts. I would stay here again if I had to, but would probably try another Hilton property in the area before doing so.

We stayed for one night in 2 rooms. The lobby and Christmas decorations were surprisingly nice. We appreciated that the pool was open until 11 am. Breakfast was decent the next morning. Staff was helpful and friendly other than not being helpful with finding luggage carts when we were checking in after a long drive (I found one myself on the 4th floor). When I mentioned I was a gold member we received a snack and bottled water. I would stay again

This hotel is not clean. It's old which is fine, but they don't do a good job keeping it clean. Our first room had random hairs on the bed and our second room had spider webs in the corner. Breakfast was not what we typically find at a Hilton Hotel. It was cold and lacked flavor. Mushy oatmeal , cold potatoes/eggs and watered down coffee. Very disappointing.

The room served its purpose. My family and I just needed to have an overnight stay on our way home from our vacation. There was no one at the desk at check in. Not sure how long I was waiting for someone but the poor girl was working alone and was taking care of something else. We got a room that was on the second floor. The first thing I noticed was that this particular Hampton needs some renovations. Everything in the room seemed to be dated compared to the other Hampton Inns that I've stayed at. Overall it served the purpose as a place to sleep for the night, but I don't think I would spend an entire vacation at this hotel.

Requested an accessible room. Bathroom had a regular step in tub with handles and grab bars. Did not use. Room furniture was scratched and watermarked. Queen bed, one desk chair. Bed was ok. Stayed two nites. Room was not tidied between nights. I know that sheets and towels are usually not changed for a two night visit, but the trash should be emptied and bed made. Stayed here once before. Will not stay here again. Breakfast was ok.

Hampton Inn has been my hotel of choice for years. I have noticed that the quality of the hotels has decreased while the price has increased. This is the first one that truly looked run down. It was a budget hotel with a premium price.
