The service was great. We enjoyed two fantastic breakfasts and a good evening meal. Great room. Our daughter said it was the best shower she’d ever had!

This was a last minute mid week trip. The location is perfect for local walks in the Peak District and Hathersage has everything you need, What an absolutely lovely place. The room was immaculate with all the nice touches. The staff were all wonderful and attentive and made me feel welcome . I used the bar in the evening and enjoyed some great beer and the atmosphere was lovely. I had a great breakfast, with really tasty quality ingredients. Would definitely look to stay again and highly recommend.

Lovely place to stay. The area is picturesque as are the premises. Rooms are decorated and furnished to a high quality with some lovely, welcoming little inclusions. Food is also top rate. The bath in our room was deep and fabulous with great toiletries.

Came for Sunday lunch and the food was incredible. First time visiting the George and the cosy atmosphere set the scene for a lovely meal. We would like to thank Liv for her great service and looking after us. We will be definitely coming back in the future ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Booked for my husband's 50th as he's always raving about Hathersage! Room was stunning (Bronte Suite) and the refit, since the disasterous flood, is beautiful and manages to be a cosy pub but with a smart (unpretentious) restaurant. However, the thing that set the stay apart was the service! Absolutely first rate. Particular mention should go to Ella, every front of house team should have an Ella, a real credit to the team here. Thanks The George, we'll be back!

Took my dad on Father’s Day to the George after its recent reopening. Fantastic service and one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had in a while! Hes a tough man to please but he loved it! Definitely will be visiting again - the question is what to try next on the menu!

Fantastic! We only stayed for one night, and would have loved to have spent more time there. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and nothing seemed like too much trouble for the friendly staff. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The bar area is particularly cosy. But, for me, as a Coeliac, the best thing was that I could enjoy my evening Sunday roast and breakfast the next day, in the knowledge that I wouldn’t be glutened. There were loads of gluten free options, and the food was really tasty. Breakfast, was particularly good. Thank you so much for a wonderful visit!

Charming, well run, rural location and faultless. That’s the whole blurb bit done, now for the main bit. We opted for a two-night stay at The George and were immediately welcomed into a warm cosy building, room was spacious, well laid out, decorated and styled by some excellent designers, every touch was just right. Dinner review is separate just to note. Alice and her team were excellent, really lovely and friendly, service that was prompt, unobtrusive but helpful. A definite recommendation, if you want to be away from everything and enjoy the Hope Valley.
