Tropical House - Jungleside Villa

We stayed at the Tropical House as closure of a two week visit at Sri Lanka with the intention of relaxing and enjoying the last few days in the beautiful country. And relaxing it was. Besides the beautiful and clean rooms, the building itself, the quietness, the private swimming pool and nature, there were also the very lovely people welcoming us and taking care of us. The beach is about 15’ walk from The Tropical House and lets you enjoy a bit extra of the nature and surroundings. I can only recommend this place.

We got two rooms: one double and one triple. The triple room was awesome and very spacious. It was calm, quiet, and relaxing. Our 2-year-old loved the room and the garden. We had rice and curry for lunch, and it was the best—the food was great! This is a very nice place to relax and hang out with your family. The only issue we had was with the pool. It starts at 5 ft deep and goes up to 6 ft. If you’re of average height and cannot swim, you can't really enjoy the pool. Also, there is no kids' pool, so we had to sit on the steps with our son for him to enjoy his pool time. I wish they had a proper kids' pool. Additionally, I wouldn't recommend their double room. It was not as spacious as the triple room, and there was a very inconvenient column in the middle. The bed was also too high, about 4 ft, making it difficult to sit on. We had to literally jump to get on the bed, which was not safe for our child. Other than that, the stay was nice.

The perfect home away from home. Beautiful surroundings with beautifully kind and helpful people. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms & bathrooms are gorgeous and luxurious and the beds are perfect. Not to mention the food, glorious food cooked lovingly. Tropical House is a dream come through. Martina

We loved our stay here! The place is magical and truly feels like an oasis in the South. The staff and Kerstin were extremely hospitable and accommodated all our needs. The food was delicious and so so fresh! Thanks for making our stay memorable. Can’t wait to be back!

Wir hatten einen unvergesslich fantastischen Urlaub im Tropical House. Unser Aufenthalt war in jeder Hinsicht top: - elegant geräumige Suite - Terrasse mit Liegen und Hängematte - grosser Pool - gepflegter tropischer Garten - aufmerksames herzliches Personal - familiäre Atmosphäre - hauseigene traditionelle Küche - Ayurveda Massagen Man wacht mit der Natur und Vögelrufen auf, bekommt zum leckeren Frühstück mit immer frischem Obst, Smoothie, Pankakes oder Eiern auch immer ein freundlich herzliches Lächeln vom Personal , genießt vllt vorher schon ein paar Runden im herrlich sauberen Pool, danach eine WohlfühlMassage. Zum Sonnenuntergang geht’s dann an den belebten 800m entfernten Strand mit tollen Beachbars und Restaurants - entweder zu Fuß oder wie wir gerne mit dem Tuk Tuk. Wir haben aber auch oft ‚Zuhause‘ gegessen , denn hervorzuheben ist das traditionelle Curry von Tharanga der Köchin oder die geschmackvollen Gerichte mit täglich marktfrischem Fisch oder Meeresfrüchten . Die Eigentümerin Kerstin kümmert sich persönlich und sehr herzlich um alle Gäste und hilft mit Tips zu Ausflügen, Restaurants und allen aufkommenden Fragen. Unsere zwei Wochen sind wie im Flug vergangen und wir möchten Kerstin sowie Ihrem gesamten Team für diese wunderschöne Zeit danken in der sich unser Körper und Geist vollkommen erholt hat. Le Tropical house est un véritable paradis, l’environnement est sublime, calme, les chambres y sont très grandes et luxueuses, le service est parfait et les petits déjeuners top. C’est un excellent endroit pour se relaxer. A tester absolument 👍
