The Ivy Suites

I originally booked a hotel down the road & it was dreadful I checked in & checked out within an hour. I walked down the street & saw this hotel so I came in to ask for availability. The lady was lovely & showed me the room before I decided if I wanted to stay or not wish of course I did. Only fault is no lift but the rooms are a decent size I will definitely book again. All the staff are polite friendly & helpful.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August & generally ok, good location & nice modern rooms. Having the 2 rooms with wardrobes & a balcony was really nice & worked well for us. The cleanliness of the rooms definitely needs improvement. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine, the sink & items like toothbrush holder/soap holder were really dirty & not up to use. The balcony wasn't cleaned & it had pigeon poo all over it. Previous people's cigarette butts left etc. Bed only changed once & the same with towels. Safe didn't work. Pool area is nice but not much atmosphere. The young guys & girls working there were very friendly & helpful where possible but it seemed to lack any managerial input. I was aware of a lady manager but didn't seem to engage at all. Another older lady working in the restaurant part always seemed very stressed & moody. Breakfast had a good choice & food was nice on other occasions. One of the days the water was cut off which apparently was all over icmeler & had been planned but no signs up or not told by staff which seemed to cause havoc. No showers or able to flush toilets wasn't the best, just a warning might of been the thing. I would stay here again if cleaning was improved.

Although the apartments are spacious, the level of cleanliness is clearly not up to last years from reviews we read before booking. The towels are refolded on the bed to look like clean ones. The cups are turned upside down but still have ring marks in them from your last drink. The milk jug served with breakfast was filthy. There was pigeon poo on our balcony that was never cleaned. The pigeons also drank from and poo'd in the pool. The safe did not lock, and despite requesting it was fixed, it did not work for two weeks.

Have been coming to icmeler 25+ times and have to say the ivy suites is by far the nicest hotel we’ve been to. It’s impeccably clean beautiful modern rooms fantastic a la carte breakfast. Currently sitting on one of our THREE balconies taking in the Mountain View. Will definitely be returning.

Stumbled upon this restaurant whilst looking for somewhere to eat. After having some very unimpressive meals since arriving in Icmeler. A couple were sat on the terrace enjoying a meal, my partner noticed how nice the steak looked, and we decided to stop here for dinner. We were made very welcome. We ordered a beer and cocktail which were very nice ( best pina colada ever!) We deliberated over a vast menu with many options. However after my partner had seen the steak with a different couple he decided to have the T-Bone. And I decided to have the chicken schnitzel. And starters! The portions and quality of the food was incredible in accordance to the price. The waiters, Akif, Harun and a lady we didn’t catch the name of were incredibly hospitable, nothing was too much. I have a nut allergy which was taken extremely seriously with Harun going to check with kitchen to ensure I was safe to have what I had chosen, not something we have previously experienced since being here. The couple previously mentioned turned out to be the owners of the ivy suite; the man approached us upon finishing our meals asking us if everything was okay with our food and evening at the Ivy as we were unable to finish our mains. We cannot stress enough how incredible the food and evening as a whole was, the ambience decor and overall vibe you get from being here is incomparable to anywhere else we have seen here. We were taken to the pool area at the end of our time at The Ivy and were told by Harun that we would be welcome anytime to enjoy their incredible facilities. We enjoyed our time here so much that we decided to return this morning for a late breakfast which again was very enjoyable. We will certainly be returning whilst here and if ever back in Icmeler, we will certainly be booking our stay with The Ivy Suites!!!

Lovely hotel, rooms are spacious but had to request a lower level room as we couldn’t cope with the stairs to the loft suites. Breakfast choice was excellent but we didn’t try the restaurant during the day as the drink prices were much higher than elsewhere in the resort. Staff were very helpful and accommodating but I didn't appreciate one of them paying us a room visit at 5am. The pool area is very quiet for those who like to read however, it doesn’t get much sun. All the furniture on the upper sun terrace where the sun beats down all day was covered up and stacked away. This hotel could be a little gem, but the management needs to contemplate why residents are not using the great facilities they offer as most people go the beach during the day and eat out at night.

Ok so, I booked this place as we usually go all inclusive and we wanted to try self catering, based on the reviews I thought this place would be best. We arrived as a family of 3 and with my in laws in a different room. We were both given loft suites, this is what we booked so it’s partly our fault, however the hotel does not have a lift. The stairs were simply too much for my FIT, to be fair to the hotel they reported this and they were swiftly moved. We tried to persevere, but we have a just gone 4 year old, and although the stairs were fine for us, half the lights weren’t working in the corridors and the stairs were incredibly slippy. The final straw was him nearly falling, add to that issues with the shower, the room smelling strongly of stale urine, and various other things not working, and it just didn’t work for us. We asked to be moved, and initially were told no, but after much protesting on our third day they moved us. The second rooms were a lot better but still had a lot of teething problems, the safe didn’t work, and was reported but took a week to fix. The cleaners seemed to clean the rooms well some days, but other days not very well. The balcony was never cleaned, toilet rolls were not replaced and towels were folded to reuse rather than changed daily. Also on the final day a “new member” of staff the unlikely story we were given entered one of our rooms at 5am in the morning. The hotel were very apologetic over this and gave us a free lunch and waived the late check out fee, to be fair to them, but it was still very unprofessional and quite scary, thankfully my 4 year old wasn’t in the room. The rooms in general are nice and well kept, you can tell it’s recently been modernised but it has teething problems, that need addressing. The pool area is very, very good and it’s a great touch that when you order from the bar they offer table service. The gripe with the pool area was there was simply no life, the music was very quiet, it doesn’t get much sun, and there was little to no craic from the staff. If you like that sort of thing it’s for you, however we prefer a bit of life round the pool so went to the beach and on boat trips most days. The drinks and food are generally quite good, the big issue is the hotel have clearly gone a bit overboard, as a family we spent a lot on food and drink on our holiday, but we slowed down drinking and eating at the hotel due to there inflated prices. We saw a menu with the prices from a few weeks earlier which was in line with the prices on the rest of the resort but they “new” prices were 20% more than everywhere. 180 lira for an efes, 450 lira for a daiquiri, 400 lira for a cocktail, when the rest of the resort offer them cheaper simply isn’t going to drum up business. You can see the owners trying to get interest but you simply won’t by charging more than others when you can walk out of the hotel and get superb service and good quality for less elsewhere. Lovely 10 night stay. Arrived at the beginning of the school holidays. When we arrived the room we were given had a sloping roof which wasnt great as me & my husband are pretty tall and could not get in the shower without having to bend down. We spoke to reception and they changed our room straight away. This hotel had such a relaxed vibe to it. No sunbed wars, although towards the end of our stay sunbeds were becoming few. Great location. Great look. There was one guy that worked in the restaurant/bar who was brilliant. I didnt get his name but everything seemed to run smoothly when he was there. Went with 14 & 11 year old boys, who enjoyed the pool area, ice creams, food and drink. We are normally used to going to 5* All inclusive, and this hotel didn’t disappoint. The only thing I would pick up on, is that our room did have a lot of dust and the bathroom/shower area could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly, but this didn’t spoil out holiday at all. I would definitely return here.

Great hotel, really nice rooms. Restaurant needs some more organisation except when Arun is working. Food is ok at breakfast but meals need some work. Nice location as it is out from the loud and bustling town centre of Içmeler. All very modern and updated recently.
